If someone can throw light on how this Happiness Index is determined?

. . .
Pakistan ranks highest among all of its neighbours again this year. India ranks at 140 — seven spots lower than last year, while China is at 93, Iran at 117, Iraq at 126 and Afghanistan at 154 — just two spots above the last place. Bangladesh is ranked 125.

Pakistan is among the top 20 gainers on the index, joined by the Philippines, and countries from Europe, Africa and Latin America. Among the 20 largest losers are countries from the Middle East, Africa, Western Europe, India, Malaysia, Venezuela and Ukraine.

Quality of life—the document says—can be reliably assessed by a variety of subjective well-being measures, with income being only of them and not the most important. The other five key variables taken into account are freedom to make life choices, trust towards social and political institutions, healthy life expectancy, level of available support from friends and relatives in times of need and generosity as a sense of positive community engagement. Finns—together with their Nordic neighbors—score exceptionally well in all these metrics.

Their jealous and intolerant nature is making them unhappy and there's nothing that can change it until they revert to some other way of life

The happiness report is not based on some superficial assumptions, not on some flawed hypothesis but on tangible things like....

Six indicators: income per capita, life expectancy, social support, freedom, generosity and corruption.

Happniess and quality of life are very different than being wealthy and rich...many millionaires commit suicides after years unhappy lives while many poor people enjoy their lives and enjoy small.

There is no scale to measure happiness so such surveys are biased and definition of happiness is different for different people

Not really Sir, I guess you just commented without even bothering to read the report. The criteria is well defined and is quite comprehensive. So definitely it is as valid a survey as any other. We all live in the same world and obey same biological and physical laws i.e. one species.

change in life style, global aspirations leading to stress at work place and health issues adding to the unhappiness in India....we are much better financially today but we need much more better social security and healthcare systems...Politics has completely taken over the social media, flashing and spreading negativity...I wont shy away to admit that intolerance and hatred in society has increased since RSS led BJP took over charge of India under Modi's leadership...achhe din kab aayege pata nahi!
