Who Chooses name of weapons and Operations ?

Hey I know we have weapons named after religious figures and some time places or things but who chooses them is their some sort of Military History department in our Armed Forces to who do research and come up with names or what just getting curious ?

MO, Field Commanders, Chiefs, Planners, any of these can propose a name and if it catches on, well and good.

GHQ is responsible for such research ...to stalk the archives and search for a piece of information is their job as far as the Operations are concerned. All Operations are to be passed through the DGMO ...The DGMO can be suggested a name by the field commanders working under him ...As far as weapons are concerned ...any group which is involved in the project can do so except when the name has to deliver a political message as a subliminal communication ...an example is that of Ghauri Missile...It was selected by the SPD and GHQ to answer Prithvi ...!
