JAMMU: Even as Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was being feted and applauded at the Rashtrapati Bhavan forecourt during the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister, Pakistan Rangers twice violated ceasefire on Monday, firing several sniper shots at Indian posts, with the second violation at around 6:15pm - just when the oath-taking ceremony was on in New Delhi.

Pakistani troops first breached the ceasefire agreement in Nagi Tekri of Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch at around 11:20am. This was followed by intermittent firing that lasted for some 15 minutes. However, when contacted, Army officials remained tightlipped.

Later in the evening, a BSF source said, "Pakistan Rangers fired at least three sniper rounds from across the border at around 6:15pm at STOP-2 Post of BSF in village Pindi of Arnia sub-sector of this winter capital. The BSF troops exercised restrained. No injury or damage was reported."

Indian administered Kashmir is a horror show of the modern world. It is a crime against humanity which is going on there. God knows how war crimes have been committed to this day. Every peace loving person knows that in the world.

Instead of Modi talking about militants, Sharif should be raising the issue of ending this reign of terror by India on Kashmiris to world media.

Good. Talks need to be backed by fire. Especially when dealing with Indians.

India has been facing insurgency in the Valley for almost 15 years now, never has been any part of the valley pounded with jets. Says much, isn't it. And as it happens in any insurgency hit area, there are some excess by the army and IA is trying to bring the culprits to justice. Other than that Sharif can raise the issue up with Martians for all we care, no one is going to step in on our turf.
