well most respected indian and pakistani and other friends and also the administrators i opened this thread to discuss which awacs is the best in the world so be neutral plz im sure that indian members say that Phalcon is best and piakistan will say that Saab erieye so be neutral think for all awacs sytems available in the world including russian and chinese and isreali and americans and other than post which is the best in reality but i think american made AWCAS on 747 is the best in the world i forgot the name of this but where do turkish awacs stand and where do SAAB erieye and phalcon and russian and chinese system stand please post them number by number i dont know much about awacs as i do know about fighter jet please be neutral awacs are important part of any airforce

Firstly,

AWACS and AEW&C are different Things.

Roles are Different and Thus cant be compared at same parameters.

Falcon = AWACS
Eyrene,E2D = AEW&C

Secondly,

Only a handful of such systems exist and Paper comparisions based only on 'available' info wont be accurate.

As far as AWACS is concerned Falcon is Considered to be one the Best.

If its so advanced then why PAF wasn't gone for it. Its the Saab-2000s that's the most modern and advanced AEW&C aircraft and you judge by that U.S doesn't placed any order of it. And if its so advance the will the U.S allow us to buy?????

This is not correct. AWACS = AEW&C. Its a change in nomenclature and terminology over the past decade or so. All current systems including the Phalcon, Wedgetail, Erieye and E3 are now categorized as AEW&C. There are some old articles lingering on the web which try to make this distinction between the two definitions. The reality is that the only AWACS was the first one and that was the E-3 Sentry. That was the name given to the aircraft. People started linking the size of the platform to assume the bigger ones were AWACS and smaller ones AEW&C, when in reality, some of the smaller systems pack more gadgetry and technology than the bigger platforms. Now everything is AEW&C.

as far as i believe 737 and saab are quite comparable and i think PAF chose saab because it was cheaper to operate...

PAF went with what we could afford. The Wedgetail is a great system.
