Well, because guys don't drink at home in front of their families, can't drink alone either, can't ask any 'glass fellows' to come over and drink with you in presence of family. So, what you do, is simply get a bottle, go out, share a bottle with buddies, throw the bottle around, go back home and sleep

Sikhs are no match to Tamilians and Keralites when it comes to drinking alcohol. They consume alcohol even while driving.

My extended family have issues even though they won't they admit. I'm the same, living in west actually saved me and if I would be living in Punjab, it is very likely will do the same. All my chachas are heavy drinkers and only my dad drinks in moderation. My community (Jatts) have the biggest problem, most of us consume on daily basis and it is very rare to find non drinkers among Sikhs

Very generic statement mate. Perception is reality. Perception is Punjabi eat and drink a lot more. Have interacted with lots of Telgu and Tamil guys in Australia as I work in IT, in my experience, they are no match to Punjabis in drinking, no doubt there would be some exceptions. Don't want to get into, you know what, a measuring contest, so lets agree to disagree and move on...

Not just heavy drinkers, they are frequenters of brothels. This is what they are known for when they visited here.

Weird I did not get your tag. Anyways I agree, there is lot of country hooch that goes under-reported....and country folks prefer it that way hehe. Tap the toddy (kallu in Tamil) and then decide if you like it "new" or "old" (gets a bit sourer)....no govt/booze company accounts for it.

That really depends on the alcohol content in "Alcohol". Koreans drink Sojo with 17% alcohol, but Chinese drink "Baijiu" with 52% alcohol. For me, Korean Soju and Japanese Sake taste like water.
