Which ASEAN Country Will Become The World's Next Manufacturing Hub?

LOL The problem with this type of circular argument with Vietcong or VC mentality stricken Viet in here (which denote an attitude and a state of mind observed during NAM i.e. exaggeration, habitual lying as well as their coolie mentality)is that you are wasting your TIME and getting NOWHERE, as one senior poster Tai Shang timely advised me.
Why you use so much insult word, i thought it was banned in the forum.?You made a generalization just based on your personal feel, without any concrete evidence or fact, is that a blank statement? If it is wasting your times, why bother reply back then, got nothing to do? Don't know why this kind of topic come up, you always find the reason to bash either VN or Malay
1. TPPA was an original idea hijacked from EAEC modified to give USA corporations more BARGAINING power than the rest of the member states.

2. The reasons why FOLKS esp. the mostly uneducated nationalistic Khmer Krom Vietnam thinks they are getting a good deal is because they are BRAINWASHED into acceptance e.g. have any Vietnamese seen the agreement or the fine print to be precise 1000 pages.

3. In a democracy like Philippines, the present ruling government knew it will be suicidal to proceed and present such a secret package from the ordinary folks. The opposition will exploit and slaughtered them in the process in the coming election.

4. VIETNAM being a RED COMMUNIST STATE whose authoritarian grip on the population is described as between three quarter way from North Korea and PRC has NO such burden.

5. From the little information we gather , OBAMA’s USA adopted a NEW STRATEGY in order to FAST TRACK TPPA the bill to the extent of even betraying the American voters and consumers e.g. it only required 51% approval from lawmakers to pass the bill but it will required 2/3 the number to reject it once it is passed.

6. In Malaysia, although the ruling junta has signed the pact despite public objections. NOBODY outside of the chosen few knew anything about the deal. Furthermore it will NOT PRESENT it in Parliament until the eleven hours citing NO TIME for debate during the current session (What? NO TIME to debate an important bill that involved ordinary folks like the TPPA?) and will only be present in January 2016 where it happened to be the deadline for Malaysia to accept the deal. Meanwhile everything about TPPA is hidden and secret. Anyone discussing it or in possession of a copy is against the law using the Official Secret Act. That is TPPA – MALAYSIAN PROSPECTIVE.

7. From the little information, we gathered, the TPPA is NOT an equivalent deal between each states e.g. while USA can has total ACCESS to New Zealand farm, it has NO FREE ACCESS to Canadian farm under their agreement, Japan farm subsidies is trade off with Japanese Automobile being subjected to the same USA tax for the next 30 years meaning NO CHANGE.

8. As for the SMALLER PARTNERS like Vietnam or Malaysia, since they have NOTHING TO OFFER in return except for US1 dollar sweatshops, they will be eventually squeezed like a ball. The WONDERFUL THING for these low IQ individuals, they are so brainwashed they never stop to even ponder for a minute. In this respect, the FILIPINO and INDONESIA are certainly SMARTER than them. I guess the RED Vietnamese have NO CHOICE as it is NOT FOR THEM to decide.

9. But in the meantime, we know USA corporation esp. pharmaceutical firms can now cracked down on generic drugs because their expired patent right has just been extended from 12 years to 30 or 36 years. We can ask 1000X but we can expects NO ANSWER until it happens.

1) the East Asia Economic Caucus (EAEC) or East Asia Economic Group (EAEG) was a regional (FTA) proposed in 1990 and encompasses the (ASEAN) member states, China, South Korea and Japan. Japan though refused participation due to the exclusion of the Western nations, which were already members of APEC and many other notable regional organizations in East Asia.TPP is an expansion of the (TPSEP or P4), and in 2008, America got invited under Bush administration, it was aim to open up market and investment oversea back then

2) 3/4 population in VN got cover by Internet, and govt got very little control in media nowadays, there are over thousand of press and blogs on the Internet, civil society aspect and civil media are booming, you can read article by
William Taylor for that issue at asiafoundation org

3) Why give example of Philippine, it mostly rule by rich family that run for election, all they care about is the vote and power, ordinary folk got not much say about it and that was going on for decade @Cossack25A1, they are not real and liberal democracy . Let's take Canada for example on issue of TPP. In Canada there are large internal divisions when the country's western provinces is very strong support for the participation in TPP agreement will boost exports to oversea. In contrast, the eastern province protested, saying that the agreement will affect the dairy industry and automobiles in Canada. Different group of people in the country got different interest, if you take PH, i'm sure it also got supporter and oppose on the issue. Vietnam also got group of officer that opposed the deal as it may reduce the revenue as imported tax reduced and ease on visa issue, and independent trade union and livestock. But guess who is against TPP the most in VN, it is the SOEs!!!!!

4) Do you got evident for your claim, or it is an false statement? Foreign press are uncensored in VN and as above govt got very little control of media nowadays and in VN it was kind of collective leadership not strongman like say CHina or Russia.

Let's me explain:
Vietnam’s top three leaders (the “troika”) have worked to ensure that their distinct powers are protected in two important ways. First, their constitutional compromise allows that each of them receive one of the top-ranking positions in the VCP. With this arrangement, there is a need to forge consensus positions on policy issues, ultimately eliminating the extreme shifts from left to right. Second, their different constitutional powers allow for patronage politics and scope for cultivation of a loyal following. One had the VCP and state-owned enterprises (SOEs). Other had control of the bureaucracy. And last one had power over the military and its sizable business sector, with nearly 70,000 soldiers (12 percent of the standing army) employed full-time in over 100 military-owned commercial enterprises
@Yorozuya , @JaiMin , @Carlosa , @Viet, @Rechoice, @Viva_Viet , @dichoi , @DaiViet

5) In U.S.A, if you got the vote from important state then even if you got lower vote, you still hold and got the power, it was the case of Bush back in the days. @C130, @jhungary

6)It was an agreement between countries that no data will release after negotiation is close, it was the case 1st applied by P4 countries. Why blame Malaysia only? TPP should be approved by Parliament Malaysia. Minister of Commerce Malaysia, Mustapa Mohamed said he expected the TPP to the country's parliamentarians in several weeks.Despite the opposition, the coalition of Prime Minister Najib Razak control about 60% of the Malaysian Parliament, should work through TPP expected no difficulties. More likely, Congress will consider TPP Malaysia in 2016. I read the news, Japan govt just got PDF about TPPs but it is in Japanese, mb ask @Nihonjin1051 out?

7) TPP is multilateral agreements, all participating countries accept the same rules should negotiations not necessarily reciprocal nature that complex, more multi-layered: a country A proposed benefit to B, in return, it requires from country D to E some benefits that last around that make the country B will make concessions. If it is your point then it is no need to take over 5 years of negotiation, AMerica is the master, they command , it will be fast and EZ right?

8) Do you have evident to back up your claim or it is make up again?

9) Patents and copy right is between 3-8 years under pressure from members state to US, and it is depend vastly on their economic status. SOme less developed countries will get span of time before the law implement on them. You made up everything will be 12 years like US?

Because of higher wage growth in China, the hub of manufacturing is expected to relocate to Vietnam given its enormous market access, very low wages, relatively good infrastructure and business environment, according to a new report released byNatixis Research.

The report notes that labor costs are clearly lower than in China, and the infrastructure is relatively well developed. While the “control of corruption index” is slightly worse than China, the “ease of doing business” is better than China.

At the same, Vietnam will have a tremendous market access (China, US and Europe). Furthermore, the corporate tax rate has been already reduced to 22%, and it is expected to be lowered to 20% in 2016, which is 5% lower than China. Hence, manufacturing production in Vietnam could expand further, with a higher emphasis on labor intensive products.

Thailand can be another important destination, once the political situation improves and even more so if the country finally joins the Trans-Pacific Partnership(TPP).

The Philippines fares well on some key indicators but not on the business environment which is of course very important. "The fact that the Philippines manufacturing sector (mainly semi-conductors) has been loosening steam during years does not bode well for the future," says the report.

The report also notes that wage growth in China has outpaced productivity, compared to ASEAN. Furthermore, wages for engineers and employer’s mandatory social contribution in the East and the West of China are generally higher than ASEAN. Hence, manufacturing sites could relocate to ASEAN rather than to the West of China.

The attractiveness of ASEAN lies on the free trade agreements that it has developed. Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is extremely important for ASEAN countries.

In addition to the elimination of import tariffs, TPP encourages mobility of capital and labor, protects intellectual property and data transmission.

"In other words, ASEAN countries’ existing trade agreements open doors to markets in both the US and China (in the case of Vietnam and Singapore even Europe)," notes the report.

Sir, India is not a bloc if you excuse me. It is just a country.

I know it is a country. The idea is that a multiple culture, multiple language, multiple religion collection of groups unified together.

When we are talking about ASEAN and EU, such a group is called a bloc because it is made of individual nations under different leadership even though they want to cooperative to some extent. We were discussing how these bloc will improve under unified leadership. My post was answering a post stating "there is no such (unified) bloc right now" and my answer means India represents what a "bloc under unified leadership" look like. I know it is not exactly the same, but the idea should be easy to understand.

Can you go to EU or ASEAN and say you all belong to the same country and you have a common leader ?
Will they accept ? No. But when you come to India and ask the same we will say yes as we are one country.
There is a huge difference.
That is the subtle difference I am trying to highlight here. India is not a bloc, it is just a country.

Try support foreign arm force against U.S. You will see what will happen to you. Who is anyone here, fool? you may be bullshiit in here but if your behavior and intention becomes clear, you may expect some will kknock your door.

what are you stupid as well as a liar or something?

What was the Shanghai GDP in 1978, before Deng came to US and begged for economic help ?

it was nixon who visited china, go read a book, make sure it's from america since vietnamese general education has clearly failed you.

as far as gdp goes, its embarrassing for vietnam really, in 1980 shanghai has like a ~200m$ gdp, while vietnam was ~27.8billion
meaning shanghai had 0.7% of vietnam's gdp

yet merely 35 years later

shanghai has ~380 billion in gdp while vietnam has ~185 billion
meaning shanghai now has 205% of vietnams GDP

you all been slacking off?

:coffee: SO you got HUMILIATED and INSULTED by the TERM VC which I used. Then you must be from South Vietnam and most probably a Khmer Krom yourself.

THEN let me begin by educating you. NO it is NOT TRUE. The word VC is NOT a RACIAL SLUR. It was invented by the American Military. VC shortened for Victor Charlie or Charlie was used as a MILITARY RADIO CODE by US Military in NAM for Viet Cong - The Communist in South Vietnam.

IF we called you a VINK CONG, that perhaps that may qualify as a racial slur.

WHY are the Khmer Krom Vietnamese in here so sensitive about the term VC? Because it represent THEM and their behavior.

After “NAM” shortened for Vietnam War, the word VC is used by many internet users and bloggers to describe disgusting behavior patterns and TRAITS found among many Khmer Krom Vietnamese trolls.

Typical example can be found in your post. It is characteristic of what we described in a VC blogger .

A POST filled with BS, boasts, exaggerations, self-denial, lies and mostly DELUSIONAL NONSENSES.

I just took a quick cursory glance at what you wrote, I have already got an idea of how much you know or understand about the regional politics e.g. ASEAN, etc.

1. Nobody except for a COMMUNIST like you is interested in the structure or division of POWER in VIETNAM.We are not Vietnam citizen, we need not to bother ourselves with your political system.

2. It was the North Vietnamese who came, conquered and reunited the South with China’s help off course and not any other way round. And hence when we read that the ungrateful VC in the South now repudiated official communication or letter to China written by the late but legitimate North Vietnamese PM Phan Van Dong to the extent that he does not represent today VIETNAM, we know who you people are or the future trend. It is like the confederates liken people in USA not respecting the Yankee written constitution. Now even the Confederation flag is removed after the shooting incidence there..

3. As for me, I already know what I need to know about VIETNAM since the BOAT PEOPLE era in the 70’s and the continuing pattern observed during the recent anti-Chinese riot.

4. Unless you are denying that the KHMER KROM VC are not cousins of the Khmer Rouge Pol Pot who are very RACIST. Anyway that remained a fact whether you admit it or not.

My mind is still fresh with the images of your VICTIMS, the people who had resided in South Vietnam for countless generation driving out to the seas all because they are Chinese descent. Pushed to the South China Seas in leaky boats to die, that is genocide.

AS for the rest of the NONSENSE you posted, my advice to you is: -

1. If you want to discuss regional politics like Malaysia, open a thread and I will comment on how little you understand about you Minangkabau Najib or his current 31% popularity or regime based on minority people vote.

2. You are basically a COMMUNIST. Stop your delusion about the imaginary DEMOCRACY you know little about.

3. VIETNAM is the weakest and the least developed member of the 12 TPP states hence she has LITTLE or NO BARGAINING POWER to dictate term. To put it another way, OBAMA tells your PM “Behave yourself. Here is the deal (bones). Take it or leave it.” Let not forget and remember BEGGARS ARE NO CHOOSER.

4. NOT all states are equal hence VIETNAM signed an UNEQUAL TREATY with little knowledge on what the others get. Since it has remained SECRET so far until today, we are commenti9ng on the little information we gathered while yours are based on your own state PROPAGANDA.

5. :taz: LOL You BOASTED that “3/4 population in VN got cover by Internet, and govt got very little control in media nowadays”

:cheesy: REALLY! LOL Sure about that or not or just any boast. And further Vietnamese Govt has NO CONTROL. Hahaha

¾ population got cover by internet is not quite the same as ¾ of the population are utilizing the internet.

I distinctly remember reading way back in 2013, the Vietnamese Communist Party introduced a controversial internet bill ignoring the concern and protest by many. True enough today, OFFICIALLY 34 bloggers that were taken into custody for writing against the state are still in jail up till today. How about those UNOFFICIALLY detained?

You are talking BIG for a country like Vietnam where the majority or 99% of the software are pirated due to unaffordability.

Example can be found in NCT.VN is a platform for game developers and gamers to share their games online. The site already attracted controversy because most of the games were reportedly pirated.

Now under the TPP as I understand all members are required to respect intellectual property rights.

However all these promises by member state like Vietnam seem impossible and a :hitwall: colossal task ahead for this under developed communist state. Unless I see a total disappearance or elimination of illegal software there, I will simply laugh at you people.

:police: Is Vietnam willing to or can Vietnam CLEAN UP SOFTWARE PIRACY? What if the USA Government penalized Vietnam with SOFTWARE PIRACY as dictated under TPP with a fine that equals her entire GDP? Good grief!

That is called HALF TRUTH which VC are well known for.

:coffee: It does not mean because just because China is a friendly country to Pol Pot's Kampuchae, she is a part of Kampuchae internal affair or support it.

 Hun Sen who was a strong opponent of Pot Pol is now regarded as an ally to China by USA but it does not mean Kampuchae is not an independent nation or does not have an independent policy.

It is just a principle outlined under 5 non-aligned declaration.

VCs are VCs. Distorting the truth is your best pitch like during NAM where you VC claimed to shot down 10,000 USAF warplanes many by snipe rifles.

Its all thanks for US-JP investments started in 1979 after CN surrenderred Senkaku, TW.

Without US-JP support, CN will look like N.K now. There would be No Jack Ma, no Alibaba cos no internet that US taught CN how to use.

LoL, Vietcong is the derogate term invented by SVN to insult the one who follow NVN, not by American military. At first you said, Vietcong or Vc, now u change to Victor Charlie or VC, double standard? Victor Charlie is more formal term, but it is still like informal word use in daily conversation, more formal is NLF @Yorozuya .Oh, so if i feel insulted by the term VC, i must be from SVN or Khmer Krom? Is that a generalisation and blank statement ? NLF also include a lot of agent and spy from the NVN and they also under control of NVN. Khmer people in Vietnam war largy neutral and minority of them support US campaign.

NAM represent Vietnamwar, where you take that ideas from? Source?
Again you making generalisation like all people have same characteristic. So where is defination of VC blogger online, can you give me the source or, are you make up again? I can tell you one thing, keyboard hero term is origional from
China, you can search wiki for that
1) Now you tell me i'm a communist, fine then, if that is the judge then tell that all professors research about that issue are communist then, go to academy edu or org and tell that to them all. I just point out to you that Vn is collective leadership Lenin state not with strongman that command thus decision are depend on the stronger group of interest (Lợi ích nhóm)

2) China is not sole supporter in Vietnam war and the assistance is mostly food, cloth, and amount of light weapon Compare to China to Soviet assistance at that time, and not follow China step in cultural revolution at that time and we have something called Nhân Văn Giai Phẩm at that time, there are no surprise VN govt at that time choose to follow Soviet in the spilt. And China is not saint either, after 1979, we owe them nothing. Pham Van Dong is pro-China no doubt as he spent his time study there, but his claim got no legitminate over South Vietnam that time, also he just one person out of four who in command at that time, one person opinion doesn't matter. Ofcourse he not represent today Vietnam, that time it is NVN now it is united VN, huge difference. It is like saying North Korea decision and agreement will take effect and implement on South Korea or united Korea

3) There is a saying, "there were no smoke or haze if there are no fire". It is good for you then, judge a country with narrow length of events

4) OMG, khmer krom in Vietnam reside almost 4 centuaries before Pol Pot and they got not much power. Also Pol Pot masscre most of them when he seize the border, awesome right? He was ethnic Chinese in origin, and his ideas are close to Mao the most, Knmer Rouge also got fund and training from China, there are no lack of pdf document from even Chinese at that time take note on that. Chinese Embassy at Cambodia that time doing research and give advice to Khmer Rouge.

5) "Again if there are no fire, there will be no smoke or haze". Who made the war to led those people suffer and fled first? Still it is so much more tolerance, humantination and generous than just killed, or tortune them. Govt prepare boat for them to leave, don't know why China that times close border then, keep it open so they no need to leave by boat.
If you truly feel sad and pity them, you should considered them lucky compare to those ethnic Chinese that has been masscre in Indonesia, also at leat 12 million victim of Mao Cultural Revolution and Great Leap forward that make many Chinese leave their own country or suffer.
About those Chinese you can read pdf from Yuk Wah Chan, Andrew Well-Dang or Yu Zheng for that matter, especially the hybrid dispora and identity laundering

1) He may be not popular but his party still control 60% of Parliement, that was the democracy you want right? When you cited example from Philippine

2) Lol i said VN is collective leadership Lenin state, you put word in my mouth again for democracy, there are many kind of democracy as well as communist and sorry dude democracy in certain country just a game play by politican only

3) Yes, she was the least developed member state, it is a fact, but it is growing. The rest of your setence is just a VALUE JUDGEMENT. And can you please quote the sentence Obama said that pls, or it is an make up?

4) It is secret and the rest of your post is still value judgement. Sorry, but most of TPPs source i see here is from foreign press and recently it in media there are interview Finanace minister, he talk both about gain and challenge. And as i mention previous post, Japan just release PDF document about TPPs, ask @Nihonjin1051. And article about TPPs in PM mostly just quote from foreign press and got one article summary the rule include in 30chapters, check nguyentandung org. And words use in TPPs document, i'm sure many specialized words or phrase use and understand by negociator only, not sure you can understand all of the chapter. Let's wait end of next year and see then or ask @Nihonjin1051

5) As i mention previous post, some aspect in certain countries will get span of years before it implement on them, just like Japan got 10 years before they must eliminate all taxes on sensitive agriculture product or automobile and TPP is multilateral agreements, all participating countries accept the same rules should negotiations not necessarily reciprocal nature that complex, more multi-layered: a country A proposed benefit to B, in return, it requires from country D to E some benefits that last around that make the country B will make concessions. If it is your point then it is no need to take over 5 years of negotiation, AMerica is the master, they command , it will be fast and EZ right

About that thing, you can read some article at Jonathan London blog, recently there was also the case of sue of software piracy, reads from BSA
Yeah right half of them online everyday and govt can't control all the flow of information nowaday.
About those Blogger, many of them have their own agenda, not purely fight for the right for ordinary, just for grab of power and popularity only. If you want to know about those unofficial detained, ez task, see US website? I clearly sure they report well on that issue. 34 blogger is just too little compare to neighbour countries, especially compare to China, Thailand and USA. Most of them also got release after few months or send to US afterward

And yes Singapore is not liberal democracy either as well as rest of SEA, LKW use a lot of laws and trick to oppress opposition party and people opinion are not alway considered either

Nowaday, they got the term "smart authoritarian"
You also can read the Last day of communist party article on worldaffairjournal by michael J.Totten, quite interesting

 There is DOUBT in my mind by now you are nothing but a VC troll.

Takes this for instance:

NAM represent Vietnamwar, where you take that ideas from? Source?

:omghaha: OK For the last time. You certainly don't need any source for this as it is common knowledge... whether you consider it as derogatory or take it negatively. Being one, I can understand your anger.

NAM is a term which was coined or referred to by American War Veterans to the battle-like situation in South Vietnam or Vietnam War. Well, if you disagree, it is hardly anybody problem except your own since you are a regular VC then or by today definition as I’ve illustrate and explained.

Like how the Superpower USA treats wimp Vietnam in TPP – “TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT”.

Hollywood producers are the most guilty of them all as they are the one who popularize the term “NAM” and so in other word apart from VC like you who still dwell inside a doghole… oops foxhole listening to the VC radio broadcast not knowing WTF is going on elsewhere, everyone else is using the term NAM and VC to describe a unique culture you Khmer Krom folks has invented.

Here is some funny EXAMPLES invented by ordinary American in the street:

This crazy VC guy was walking through the streets all NAMMED out, he had a machine gun, rocket launcher, and grenades!

Back in NAM we didn't have any bitches, only f@cking VC.

The use of AGENT ORANGE in NAM had unexpected consequences beside the Communist takeover in Cambodia.

A place of drunken escapades to which there are no remaining memories the next morning.

- Oh man, what the f@ck happened last night...
- We went to NAM boys

Do you still have to consult or ask @Nihonjin1051 or probably another troll @Yorozuya before you can accept the world reality? This is precisely why I say you are BRAINWASHED. Hahahaha

I will not bother myself and waste my time replying to the rest of your post. As I have better thing to do and have concluded you are incapable of a logical or coherent argument. We will be going in circle and circle.

Your PROPAGANDA is not worthy of a response. :haha:

This for EXAMPLE:

You wrote: “34 blogger is just too little compare to neighbour countries, especially compare to China, Thailand and USA”

Well that is a typical VC half truth.

If I extrapolate that figure based on the per capita then it is rather SIGNIFICANT or ALARMING.

I think I may have to lower myself to explain this to you.

If there is only 3 of you in a group and one of you got arrested, you can scream at the top of your high pitch VC tone that it is NOTHING compared with the 4 in the next group… except you failed to mention that there are 60 in the next group.

:sarcastic: BTW your bugis hero has only 31% support by his own group and the general perception is he is a pencuri among the population. Need I to go on.

Lol, common knowledge? So it must be wildly use on net then, can you site American Veteran vietnam war site that got defination of slang they use in Vietnam war pls?

Sure "take it or regret it", but i mention to you already, TPP is multilateral agreements, not between two countries, you need to read carefully, OK?

LoL, that one about Khmer you also need back up to your claim, source?
Yeah sure,i'm brainwashed, happy right? I mention @Nihonjin1051 because he was Japanese here and you want to know about TPPs document right. U keep judging the thing you not know much about as you said it is still overwhelm secret. I mention @Yorozuya as he was Northern Vietnamese, any prob?

Yeah right, like you don't even write propaganda, look at your previous post 1st, so where is defination of VC blogger?
