I am from Muzafferabad Azad Kashmir and live just 10 meter away from where Neelum and Jehlum rivers are flown. 10 mint ago, I was on river side and happily surprised to see that this year we will get lot of water, As its mid of April only, and the water level in both rivers are already over flowing. As per current estimate our both major dams Mangla and Terbella will be full before 31th May this year.

"According to the Indus River System Authority (IRSA), Pakistan dumps water worth $21 billion into the sea every year. The Senate Forum for Policy Research was informed that this situation is the result of an inadequate water conservation system in the country. " its in normal years when water flow is normal. But this year flow is huge almost double than normal annual flow. Which means loss will be over 50 Billion in term of water loss, let alone crops and other losses due to expected flood

Now the question is where we are going to store over flow water of June July August which are also called peak months for water flow. Can any one ever be held accountable/responsible for the loss of precious water????????

bhuttos grave! oh fak he is still alive sorry lets dump extra water in arabian sea! hum kia karain gay pani ka fazul!

ask line men to open the water lines and fill the house tanks...we have enough storage

What a naive question to ask. We we will store it in our agricultural land of course. Who needs to grow crops anyways. The farmers can suck it.

Maybe local villages and towns along the river route can start taking water now to store in private tanks and resorvoirs?

They need to take as much water as they can and that can help prevent water loss.

hard to store water in small tanks. Jehum and neelum river are mighty river . Thats the reason currently we are producing 1050 Megawatt electricity from the total capacity of 960 Megawatt of Neelum Jehlum Project which is not less than miracle

water flow is huge and can only be control by big dams. our summer crops are in serious danger this time.

Well there seems to be little option then. There is also a major risk for flooding if they are not able to divert and use some of this water.

We have deserts fill them up over the years they will become pasture lands ...more agriculture, trees and wild life...
this will also raise the water table and the ground water that has been taken out over the years would be replenished
