When has China blocked Internet sites and why?

Censorship does happened in China. It is mostly done for stability reason. China is a big and populous country, stability is essential for the prosperity of the nation. And for Chinese, the prosperity for the nation is more important than winning western favor or ideological brownie point.

Civil right issue has long been a contention point between China and the west, Chinese obviously has different idea on the issues. The main difference being that Chinese do not believe in absolute idea (as in civil right of individual taking priority at all time) and generally consider the overall picture and adjust accordingly and therefore Chinese tend to take the goods of the whole as having priority over an individual when they are in conflict.

You might not agree with the Chinese government approach, but there is no denying that the Chinese government been doing a good job and getting better.

And that is what really matter. In the past century, Chinese has went through an emotional ideological roll-coaster ride. At the end of the day, it is food on the table that is real. Black cat, white cat, it is the cat that can catch the mice that is real.

In India every year hundreds and thousands of people die due to terrorist attacks, communal riots, infrastructure failure and natural calamities but sadly such news go almost unnoticed on a global scale or lets says without evoking the same level of emotions. Is it because death has become a norm here and life isn't valued much? The whole world stays silent except for few mentions on news channels and couple of headlines in the breaking news section. Why is it that despite being Indians we are not moved by such death stories in our country but tears roll down our cheeks when similar stories happen elsewhere? Have we become insensitive to the life of our own countrymen? We post messages on facebook walls, send tweets and flood the online world with our remorse and anguish over such carnages jolting other countries, but where do our emotions and grievances disappear when men, women and kids in our own land lose the battle of their lives due to someone else?
Are we to believe that life is valued more in the developed nations than in the third world countries like India? As Indians do we still suffer from the herd mentality and believe it best to emulate the rest of the world in their mirth and distress
