What's new

Whats up with the Trend #NoDamOnIndusRiver??

Forget about my emotions, had there been this dam, Pakistan would've saved about 43 billion $ it lost in 2010 after downstream Indus flooding. You control the source from the top to mitigate the damage, not downstream when the damage has already hit the vast region. Stop playing politics and controversy over any development.

flooding in 2010 originated mostly in kabul /swat river basin due to flash rains .

there was far less flash flooding in indus , upstream of tarbela , let alone at Diamer site @!

bhasha dam , even if it did exist in 2010, would have made little impact to stop the flooding .

max damage was done downstream of tarbela around the areas of DI khan and upper sindh once wapda decided to open the tarbela gates

downstream of tarbela, kalabagh lake could have absorbed the flash flood impact

controversy ?

where did i say dont make dams?

those who know me on this board are quiet familiar with my stance regarding dams in pakistan.
i have even gone a step further and advocated HITTING indian dams over chenab

i repeat, DB is an over expensive worthless project with NO irrigation benefit
