The bottom line is that Pakistan has survived the last 60 years and still there.....

truth is, even though pakistan has not done anything worthy, but its because pakistanis are divided, pakistan is a very blessed country, it has immense potential

pakistan as safriz says, survived those 60 yrs while remaining sand witched between india, china, russia, all big and powerful countries, afghanistan, one messy country, pakistan has actually done enough till now

Worth while for who? Your question have several angles which have to be taken into account before a concrete reply is given, I will try on it.

A) Worth while Internationally?
--- The thing which comes to my mind in this context is; (triggering) the fall of USSR, for some it may not be worth it, but I think for most at that time, it was big.

B) Worth while in its neighborhood?
--- Helping Afghanistan, hence point A can be referenced here as well. Have friendly relationship with almost all of its neighbors. Providing a gateway for Central Asian countries to the Arab world and beyond (you may say that its in the making).

C) Worth while as a nation?
--- You really want to know the details here? Look at the number of factories and industries, schools and colleges, universities and hospitals etc. The number of M Phil and PhD holders. The number of Pakistani enlisting since the birth of this nation to protect all of us.

So if you are indeed a Pakistani and by some chance have come across or may come across a situation where someone asks you what you have asked here, don't you know your own history, or is it that you are only able to see the last decade, and not the other 50 years that we survived and prospered so much.
