Baluch militants know their limitations but exploited the loopholes of security apparatus in Baluchistan very well. The MO was to pick a most isolated picket or post and or vehicles qof FC and attack it knowing well that no help is coming to LEAs in due time. They have used mortar, RPGs and snipers to pin the soldiers inside the pickets/posts while their fire raid teams moved in to clear the compounds.

The loopholes in our security setup are,
1 - Non existent joint response mechanism between Army, FC & Police
2 - Absence of protective equipment at disposal of soldiers
3 - Inconsistent Intelligence based operations
4 - Reliance on pro state militias which lack discipline
5 - Ill equipped police

It goes without saying that Baluchistan needs aggressive IBOs to deny militants any hideouts. Anyone who follows BRAS propaganda videos, would know that group is almost always on the move and uses porous border of Afghanistan and Iran as well. Low cost solution can be use of K9 units to trace militants who hide inside Baluchistan.
Lastly, an offensive policy is much needed vis a vis Baluchistan because now desperate terrorist are utilizing suicide bombings against Chinese and Pakistanis.
