That's one thing i never got, if i invite my friends over my place, they walk in with their shoes and literally keep it on. I had to tell them to please leave it in the shoe closet.... :disagree:

Yeah. In Singapore, I attended a function in a local's home. Some western friends arrived & just walk into his house with their shoes on. Everyone's jaw just dropped, including the Indians, Japanese & Pinoy friends there, hehehe.:D

Well I don't know which culture influenced us but most Filipinos don't wear any footwear while inside the house, though I do remember reading that wearing footwear was introduced by the Spanish...

As for the Thai people being polite, that is 100% correct.

Slippers ? No ?
Same here, I'm in barefoot right now, hahaha. It's hot in slippers, but it's ok in winter,

South Vietnam and Thailand may never use slippers inside.

There is nothing more than a turn-off than dirty feet or dirty , uncut/untrimmed nails. I don't even walk around my house barefoot, i wear socks to keep my feet clean. Clean feet, clean hands and clean nails is a big thing for Japanese.

Yup. We only wear slippers when going out but inside, we don't, even in cooler weather.
