What is this PTV bullshit?

. .
If PTV is run through our donations, why does it even show advertisements bullcrap?

I don't know why no one in the whole country has an issue with the forced robbing of our money and it's not insignificant. I would rather pay 35rs to a poor deserving person. Multiply that 35rs with 22 crore population and the result is a gigantic sum of money every month.

And what we have? A shitty channel that is obviously feeding the pockets of haramis. All the money it generates through bills is enough to make it run without ads but that's still not enough. It gets private ads, it gets government ads, it gets premium right to coverage of important national broadcasts. And PTV is still a crap channel with no audience. Why not just shut it down and use the taxpayers money on something useful for fucking once? Like building a new university or hospital? This country needs a ton of them.

This bullshit charge is a proof of why Pakistan is a craphole. There's absolutely no worries about eating taxpayers money and the taxpayers either are dumb enough to understand their importance or okay with the corruption.

Can the government collect 1rs from everyone in their bills and send it to me every month? Clearly, nobody gives a crap about 35rs so what's 1rps for me, right?
Don't multiply 35 with 220 million.
We don't ave TV per head.

and how many people own an electricity meter ? i guess Each per family.... right ?

Thought about it. So make it 20 crore of 22? Or 18? 10?

It still amounts to a huge sum.

I have no problem paying it if it was even used by PTV to improve but their quality is clearly lacking and the reason is clearly because they know they've a cushion and no worries of being shut down. Imagine if they were a private channel and had to compete for survival like other private channels, it would be a completely different channel.

People would watch it and the state opinion would reach better.

Pakistan have 3 crore 22 lac registered households as per latest census. Not every house have a TV, but not every house have 1 tv... now do the math...

When did I asked you to do anything for me

Thanks for taking the time to quote my exact reply. I appreciate that.

I said it "will be a while" and i hate politics. The latter stands true as i do hate politics and this thread isn't about any political party but the charge placed on my bill.

For the former, that's how i felt like at the moment but it's not a promise or a universal truth. Feelings can change. I was really disappointed when i made that statement but since that time, there are a few supporters I've found who help raise the Uighur issue and are like-minded. Maybe I'll stick around or maybe i won't, i really don't know. Didn't really expect someone to hold me accountable on some statement i made, to be honest.

There are a few members here who have expressed their desire very passionately how i should leave and maybe i lumped you in with those. My response was in context of that.

People ask for profitable state institutions yet some people criticize even those very few institutions that have remained profitable.

It should be a matter of relief for us that an institution is putting some money in the national exchequer.

Just smash you tv on 16th June and save 35 Rs.

Having a TV or not doesn't matter. You still have to pay.

PTV is stuck in the 50s
PTV should have been the standard when it came to entertainment in Pakistan. It should also had it's own music studio. Made songs in all Pakistani languages played them during intermissions between 2 different programs. It should also have made movies and then dubbed them in all pakistani languages.

CJP questions millions allegedly spent on former PTV chairman Attaul Haq Qasmi
The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday summoned former information minister Pervez Rashid and other officials, demanding to know why Pakistan Television (PTV) allegedly spent hundreds of millions of rupees on former chairman Attaul Haq Qasmi over his two-year term.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar was hearing a 2006 petition filed by a producer who worked at PTV, which claimed that the absence of a Managing Director (MD) in the state-run institution had a negative effect on the organisation's operations.

Qasmi had ignited controversy in April 2017 when he appointed himself PTV MD while also remaining the chairman of the state-run broadcaster. Five days later, under immense pressure, he was replaced by Information Secretary Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera, who was appointed as acting MD at the time. The two had known differences, and Qasmi subsequently resigned in December last year saying that it had become "increasingly difficult... to work for the restoration of [the] past glory of PTV".

During the hearing, the deputy attorney general informed the court that PTV allocated more than Rs270 million to Qasmi in the form of compensation and other employee benefits, as well as advertisement funds, over his two-year term. This figure was confirmed by the information secretary, who was present in the court.

According to Sukhera, Qasmi received at least Rs 2.7 million every month in salary and other benefits. The former chairman was also allocated an advertising budget for a programme he used to host on PTV, he told the court.

The large amount of compensation Qasmi allegedly received during his time at PTV caught the eye of Justice Nisar, who observed that the former chairman incurred at least Rs10 million in expenses for the state-run broadcaster each month.

"Pakistan is a poor country and this money belongs to taxpayers. How can it be distributed like this?" the chief justice asked.

He also questioned the grounds on which Qasmi was appointed as chairman of the company.

Sukhera responded saying Qasmi was a veteran playwright and author who had contributed to PTV in the past.

He explained that the board of directors had referred Qasmi for the post of chairman and his appointment summary was moved by former additional information secretary Saba Mohsin Raza. The summary was then sent to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for approval.

The CJP said that he may summon Sharif with regards to his role in the appointment. Formal summons were sent to Qasmi, the prime minister's principal secretary Fawad Hasan, the secretary of the establishment and the former additional information secretary.

The case was adjourned till Feb 12.

Tumharay jaisa ghatya admi main na apni Puri zindagZ main nhi dekha

Bro don't get angry on him ... he seems to be right long before GoP merge the TV license fee with electricity bill. GoP logic is that anyone who is having electric meter is also enjoying TV. You own a TV set or not or you own more than one TV set, you have to pay a fixed monthly TV license fee with your electricity bill.
