Islamabad don't have world class hospitals as Delhi.

Islamabad don't have high standard university like Delhi.

Islamabad Don't have world class airport like Delhi.

Islamabad don't have world top class public transport facilities like Delhi.

Islamabad is situated in jungle and some what planned, have very less population.

But what's your achivement in this???

Bus terminals, yeah they looks like airport terminals but they are Bust terminals of Delhi.

Delhi’s ISBTs into modern multi-modal transport hubs, connected to Metro and railway stations, and with facilities like shopping centres, food courts and even a 3 star hotel.

Note: All of these 3 ISBT are presently fully operational in Delhi but they are also going under renovation and expansion.

Following are the u/c Inter State Bus Terminals Kashmere Gate, Sarai Kale Khan and Anand Vihar.

My Conclusion.

Islamabad is a planned city with recent history hence its cosmetically more beautiful.

Delhi's history is very long ,with it seeing lots of rulers and power shifts.

Delhi is 10 times bigger geographically than Islamabad and
12 times bigger in population.

Delhi is many fold times overcrowded when compared to Islamabad.

If beauty, planning and quality of living are the criteria Islamabad will win hands down to any capitals in the region.

But if history, diversity, cosmopolitanism & facilities are to be considered New Delhi is the clearer winner.

Colombo is catching up and has world class facilities and the city is basically much beautiful than Delhi.

Dhaka does nt need a mentioning as it has no such qualities to bolster.

Other cities are either small or minimalistic for a comparison.


The good thing about Delhi is that there are changes which are evident in recent moves where heritage and cosmopolitan factors are combined and massive infrastructure development is going on.

Also a people friendly Government which allows freedom without putting its head into all matters without banning this and that can make its growth faster.


So the ranking should certainly look like:

1- Islamabad.
2-Delhi
3-Colombo
