Allah and Army.

And Awam. The people of Pakistan deserve respect and credit. There is a great maturity and patience in this nation. They endure so much bad for the greater good, knowing rashness today will lose us both today and tomorrow.

In a nation of lesser men (and women) we wouldn't have the resolve to face difficulty after difficulty, we would fight amongst ourselves and tear each other to peices over scraps. These actions are only carried out by the corrupt on the fringes of our society. The people hold out, enduring today, hoping they can make a better tomorrow for their children.

Without this awam, the army would be powerless. This awam has it's power through Allah and Allah alone.

I love how Pakistanis overhype our army and then feel sad that, come what may, it's ultimately a bunch of US bootlickers.

Common religion between Pakistanis is whats keeping Pakistan together.

The question is poorly put.. What puts a country together ? Nothing but circumstances. The world doesn't live the tribal life anymore where if you get pissdd off you just pack your bags and leave. You can't just leave a country, there's been no major cessesion in the past 30 years.

A better question would be what unites us. To which the answer would be religion and the need to co-exist.

Borders change are not that easy. Afghanistan is still intact after 40 years of civil war. Syria to isn't going anywhere. So as far as I'm concerned Pakistan being together isn't that big of a deal at all.

I agree with you here lahori.

No, when we had many kingdoms, we had an identity as a nation called bharatvarsha. We are a natural country with or without central ruling authority. Pakistan was a totally new concept floated few years before 1947. It met its natural end in 1971 and you very well about remaining part. Pl do not compare it with india. There is no logic in vomparing the two.
bharatvarsha is as real as vedic space ships or aircrafts. This region had small independent states with their own regional rule/rules before britain occupied it and there was no country like India before Britishers came in. India as you see today never in past rarely came under single political entity . It was unified struggle against the British which gave you this new identity that even north eastern places like Sikkim and Nagaland are part of India. You should thanks British for giving you this country called India as they introduced this concept of nationhood, central adminsitration , democracy etc and even your constitution and penal code

as soon as we turn on the tv we can see that our country is a big mess right now, terrorism every where, disease , and energy shortages.
but still our country remains united as of now..
what can be the possible reason still keeping us together
why haven't the pathans started to revolt to make pushtunistan? or sindhis to make sindhudesh?
what is the uniting factor?

-Religion?- 97 percent of our population follows some form of islam.

-pakistani national identity?- have we started to love being called pakistani? that we can set aside punjabi, pastho, sindhi, and balochi to be called pakistani?

-resources?
all are welcome to discuss.

please no replied like " allah is keeping us together" or "allahu akbar"….. we know allah is keeping us together but for now lets discuss the worldly things..

Ignorance is a bliss. When one has learned history from Pakistani nooks, nothing better can be expected.

Ignorance is better than getting PHD from certified RSS school of Hinduvatazz who are master of distorting history and historical facts to justify Hindu nationalism. Qutub Minar was built by emperor samudragupta and his real name was vishnu Stambha and the way you guys are replacing histroical names of road and cities in India and the way you are doing this saffronisation of history then Taj Mahal will soon become Tejo Mahalay

The generals believed that Islam was the only ideology that could confront the Left and provide a basis for keeping Pakistan together. We must go back to the roots of the struggle that made Pakistan which was inspired by our faith in Islam. The Muslims of Pakistan must re-ignite the true ideology of Pakistan; 'La Illaha Illallah' not merely by words but by practice. If we are to progress we must revive our values and morals according to Islam, be truthful to our selves and our faith, have the courage to accept our faults and learn how to unite and discipline our selves. We have to stop criticizing others and share the responsibility of the misfortunes that have fallen on Pakistan.
