during operations by the army and police huge arms cashes are found, with hundreds of weapons what happens to them all. Is any of the material redistributed into the army/police? i noticed that in some of the weapons captured many of them are quite sophisticated, so it would be hard to imagine it being incinerated.

Hi,

If that is the case---then it is not very intelligent----. They should sort them out---and should supply the local police force or rangers with them. The ones that are damaged can used as parts---.

Pak police is real short on handguns. Many of these weapons can be easily refurbished to serve for a few more years.

Maybe its sold into black market from which the Taliban and other extremists organisations buy the weapons again.

You never take an unreliable/refurbished gun into field.

Hi,

Unreliable is understandable---but refurbished---why would you say that?

Basically those items will be refurbished which already in the system---and once done with the process----they will be pretty close to new.

I mean to say---when was the last time a criminal went out with an unreliable weapon. Their life depends upon it----at times there will be bad & beat up stuff but pretty much all the semi automatic weapons can be used as a whole or in parts.

But the interesting thing here is that you posted----8 years on the board and around 27 posts a year---something must have triggered a reaction.

You must post more often---people who don't speak up---often lose their liberties.

I think the latest weapons goes to the security forces where as other old stuff is may be used by Intel agencies to sell them to the terrorists to catch them or may be they are destroyed completely.

These should be destroyed as most of them are copies made of mild iron which can seriously injure user if the nozzel or gun blasts.off.

The ones captured by police can be sold to any one who is willing to pay some amount of money ,

I think you have worng info real short thing . they carry 2 type of weapons one personal that they caught they are advance and second one that is provided by Govt they use only their personal one

Those that conform with standard arms of various agencies should be pushed into duty. Pakistani police i k ow are seriously lackimg in sharpshooters and sniper rifles so they could use these. Others should be disabled an used for sting operations to catch criminals and terrorists or destroyed.
