Yawns. There are no large corporations which can sustain growth in South India. No Tata or Reliance. Nor the income that comes from exporting commodities to Northern states. Neither there are enough industries like in North India. Except for Tamil Nadu.
South India is linguistically divided states. The situation will be even worse if these states go separate ways. The union is beneficial. And there is no separatist movements in South India.

Except, a chunk of the revenues comes from the Central government. States which are away from coasts tend to have a much less economic activity with the outside world hence the Central government spends more.

It's a waste of time to educate you on what's the difference between GDP, Revenue of centre and states etc.. etc... But I'll give a simpleton comparison six of the top ten economies (states) in India will be North Indian states. And many South Indian states like Kerala and Andhra/Telengana is in huge debts. Which will not look good if they are to go on separate ways.
