I think you meant Jamat e Islami JI.

Thank you for the correction, post above corrected. Old arthritic fingers make mistakes on the keyboard, specially if keys are right next to each other. :D

JI not JUI.

Please see the above.

It was not easy for Bangladeshi people at all. They also had India backing Sheikh Mujeeb :agree:
Yeah no revolution comes without blood

SM would never have achieved his goals without foreign intervention. What are you trying to imply is IK the next SM!
East Pakistani units changing allegiances is why we lost, had the grassroots support and troops remained of Pakistan’s side India wouldn’t have stood a chance.

How ironic that all major parties that claim to stand for democracy do not practice it within their own ranks. In fact, I think only the JI is different in this regard, with ALL of the rest falling short.
Agree JI is in practise the only internally democratic party.

They had enough of the atrocities committed by the top brass.

Agree but who was in charge there, the culprits were never punished.

Bhutto’s biggest mistake was not putting these people on trial, but how could he? The man was as guilty as them over what happened.

He was Gen Yahya's puppet.
The man was as guilty as them over what happened.
Both the political and Military classes of Pakistan were power-hungry and never recognised the legitimate rights of our fellow countrymen in the East.

Situation is no different today. Pakistanis want elections right now but the elites have other plans

When he knew the opposition are preparing a VNC why did he not announce the elections at that time if they were so necessary.

And then why did he break the assemblies in direct violation of the law after the VoNC was filed?

Agree JI is in practise the only internally democratic party.

How ironic, then, that the only democratic party is unelectable. And the only institution run by merit prevents every other institution from doing so. And then the whole nation wants the benefits of the rule of law, but only if all others but themselves follow the law

What a country!

Because he didn't know then that the conspiracy would succeed

Gorelim Mevla neyler
Neylerse guzel eyler

Let's see what MEVLA has in store for us
Whatever it is HE renders it auspicious

Because he didn't know then that the conspiracy would succeed
I thought he said he knew it since July last year, moreover he welcomed VNC with open arms and bragged he has cornered three stooges.
