What Do The Chinese Think Of The Social Credit System? | Street Interview
When it comes to China, one of the popular topics that always seem to pop up for discussion in the West is the so-called social credit system. It's often being compared to an episode from the Netflix show “Black Mirror” where the central government keeps track of their citizens' every move. The question is, how do ordinary Chinese citizens feel about the social credit system? Do they even have the same understanding of it as it’s being viewed in the West? To find out, our Asian Boss reporter hit the streets of Shanghai.

We all can see how the west massively twisted this so called social credit system but unfortunately the world has enough fools to fall for it.

The white man already implemented part of social credit system long time ago. Whenever you go to bank for a loan, the bank will have access to all your previous credit record and then calculate your interest rate. If you keep defaulting credit card, you can only go for subprime loan, which is far higher in interest rate.

You never see white elite criticizing their privacy intrusion.

We have a huge "CREDIT SCORE" system is Australia, New Zealand, USA, UK and so forth. You can't even wipe your backside properly if you credit is low. How is the Chinese system any different???

Social credit system is very old in India, and pretty straightforward. Much before the term became fancy

Nice interviews. But there are some non-Socialist elements in the system like a deposit of tens of dollars to borrow a phone power bank or the complicated school enrollment system.

But I wish there such a system in India ( and everywhere else ) though of course the socio-economic and political systems have to change so towards that I have proposed such evolved systems. The political system is of real democracy ( as against the Anglo-origin illusion we have ) and an almost-Communist socio-economic system that has a money system but an evolved one and also manages to eradicate economic classes ( rich, middle, poor, any intermediate ones ) :

I got it!
Marx did not die, he lived from 1818 to 2021, and he even learned to surf the Internet.
His net name is jamahir. Therefore, what Communist countries should and should not do should be decided by jamahir.

You are a funny person but we have had these conversations before. And one question to you was which Communist countries have stock markets and where people can gamble money, lose and the system allows for the person to suicide by jumping into steel furnaces or off buildings ? :)

Some credit card companies will also drop you if you get charge (not convicted) of a crime and there is no recourse, even if you have really high credit scores and have never missed any payments.

Some sort of social credit and policing system is inevitable in the future. The rate at which data is being collected, and the rate at which AI startups are mushrooming to harness this data, something has to give. It will not be a big bang thing, but more like a slow creep. Just like Google has become all pervasive and it is very difficult to go about your daily chores without it. Earlier we used to read the first few lines of every notice before downloading an app or signing a form. Now we do it blindly. We will allow this also.

. . .
The cultural difference between the east and the west, We can see the respondents all first think about the benefits that the society and the country may get, all are ready to do their part to give up some personal interests for the collective common good .They all believe what they give will be rewarded with much bigger gains by a healthy society.

It's really funny that they made out that social credits was evil, yet in the UK we now having COVID passports that control your movement and now the govt is proposing taking away passports from drugs dealers/users as part of their punishment.

I worked for a CC company who dropped their customers who always paid off the balance before they incurred interest.
