What Are You Listening to Right Now - Round 2

.
In my case I will not let her go. I think there is no appropriate word in English so in Urdu I want to 'haasil' her.
The concept is that if you love someone then you don't force it , as it is one way. It makes you stronger to accept the rejection. Rumi said that if the other person really loves you he wd come back, so give him/her space, to maker him realise that. Else, it was not meant for you and don;t run after it to waste time.

. .
Modern day Indians would not understand the Urdu in these songs.
Here is a hilarious qawwali from some movie which I have not seen.

You are right. I didn't understand what "Husn-e-mujassim ho" so I looked up on rekhta.org.

And in recent times there have been artistes who either have performed old Hindi film songs nicely or have presented nice new songs. For example, Jonita Gandhi and the band Sanam. Some of their songs in this post of mine.

Jamahir,
Your untiring efforts at bringing a cultural synergy, as well as dwelling on other commonalities between Indians and Pakistanis can only be lauded. I am giving you a resounding applause for your determination to see peace between us in your lifetime. I am about as much left of center as you are (or maybe a little less). Unfortunately I have to give you one more piece of disappointing news .
Pakistanis are no longer enamored of either Bollywood or it's music.
In the visual realm Bollywood has been replaced by Turkish Drizz serials and Pakistan's own rapidly growing film industry which is taking advantage of the computer aided translations to find markets in Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa. A Bollywood patriotic pot boiler depicting Ajay Devgan mowing down Pakistani soldiers doesn't strike a cord with Pakistanis 😊
In the audio world Pakistan is far better placed with a whole new generation of talent from Atif Aslam, Aima Beg, Momina Mustehsan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Fareeha Pervez.

Who needs Rafi and Lata ?

I must confess I had to search the internet to find Bollywood songs I could like.

You are quite right. You wouldn't know because that language is dead in India. But at least you tried to understand.
India has many languages, and with no offense intended I am too lazy to learn Telugu simply to follow Telugu movies and music.
I am sure NT Rama Rao was a great actor and likewise K.S. Chithra sings beautiful songs.
We Pakistanis just don't understand it. It is becoming difficult for us to understand the Hindi of Bollywood songs as well.
We give up.

Pakistan is culturally changing. In a few years the last generation that knew the old Bollywood would have moved on.

Understood. And I see such films as cringey.

In my opinion if there have to be the Indian soldiers mowing down someone I would like that someone to be right-wing criminals / terrorists ( You know who I mean ). An Indian equivalent of the Pakistani film Waar but I think the current Indian film scene is largely hesitant in taking stand against right-wingers, especially to the level of Waar. Sad.

You mention Central Asia. Tomorrow I will post songs of the Uzbek singer Sevara Nazarkhan.

It's the signs of the times. The march towards disaster cannot be stopped now.

But I salute the left front in India for bitterly resisting .

The Telengana Urdu poet Makhdoom wrote:
" Hum Afriki, Hum Amriki, hum Chinee janbaazan e watan..
Hum Surkh Sipahi Zulm Shikan
Aahan paikar faulad badan ..."

( Trans : We are Africans, Americans, Chinese brave hearts for their land , We are Red guards, the destroyers of oppression, with armour and iron
bodies )

What are Drizz serials ?

Here is an example. These are expertly dubbed in Urdu . The block busters are the historical serials.

Pakistan has its own culture too, based on Saraiki. The folks songs are rhythmic and enchanting.
Here is an example.

I have this song with me.

And I have always wondered what the below lines mean :
Ho vanga chadalo kudiyon
Mere data de darban diyan

@MastanKhan @Joe Shearer @jamahir @Baibars_1260
it is old indian song on Dilip Kumar

I like the song's sentiment and here it is beautifully modernized.

Very Indian style, here is using Indonesian (Keroncong) style. I bet you never hear Keroncong style music.

Nice violin play.

And I have always wondered what the below lines mean :
Ho vanga chadalo kudiyonMere data de darban diyan

"Ho wanga charha lo kuriyon, meray daata tey darbar diyan"

Translation:
"Put on your bangles, girls … Those that you get at your Master’s shrines"

Sufi shrines have shops ( near the premises ), that sell artifacts. It is traditional to buy glass bangles for young girls as a token of having visited the shrine.

Here are the full lyrics and translations:

Alif allah chambay di booti, tey meray murshid mann vich lai hoo
My master has planted the fragrant seed of love in my heart

Ho nafi uss baat da paani dey kay
Which flourished with modesty, piety and acceptance of his existence

Har ragaay harjai hoo
My God is present in every throbbing pulse

Ho joog joog jeevay mera murshid sohna
My spiritual guide is ever-present

Hatay jiss ay booti lai ho
The one who blew life into me

Pir meraya jugni ji
I have the spirit of my guide

Ae way allah waliyan di jugni ji
The spirit of all the messengers who brought His message to this Earth

Ae way nabbi pak di jugni ji
The spirit of Holy Prophet

Ae way maula ali wali jugni ji
The spirit of Ali and his followers

Ae way meray pir di jugni ji
The spirit of my saint

Ae way saaray sabaz di jugni ji
The spirit of all his words

Dum gutkoon, dum gutkoon, dum gutkoon, dum gootkun… karay Saeein
Every-time I think of you God, my heart flutters

Parhay tay kalma nabi da Parhay saeein pir merya
So I recite the Kalma whenever I think of God

Jugni taar khaeein vich thaal
O my creation, share whatever you have

Chad duniya dey janjaal
Remove yourself from worldly concerns

Kuch ni nibna bandiya naal
There is nothing that you can get from other human beings that you can take to the after-life

Rakhi saabat sidk amaal
Just keep your actions and intentions pure and true

Jugni dig payee vich roi
So absorbed was the creation that she stumbled into a ditch

Othay ro ro kamli hoi
There she wailed relentlessly

Oddi vaath naye lainda koi
But there was no one who enquired about her

Tey kalmay binna nai mildi toi
Remember, there is no salvation for anyone without remembering your creator

Ho wanga charha lo kuriyon
Put on your bangles, girls

Meray daata dey darbaar dian
Those that you get at your Master’s shrines

Ho naa kar teeya khair piyari
Daughter, don’t be proud of your youth

Maan daindiya galaryaan
Your mother scoffs and scolds you

Din din talhi juwani jaandi
That with each passing day, your youth slips by

Joon sohna puthia lariyaan
Even gold when put in the furnace molds itself, there is absolutely no permanence

Aurat marad, shehzaday sohney
Women, men are like so beautiful

O moti, O laa lariyaan
Like pearls, like the gems

Sir da sarfa kar naa jairey
Those who are not self-centered

Peen prem pya lariyan
They are the ones who truly love the humanity

O daatay day darbaan chaa akho
Whenever you visit the darbar of any saint

Pawan khair sawa lariyan
God fulfills all your wishes and showers you with his blessings

O wanga charha lo kuriyon meray daata tey darbar diyan
Put on your bangles, girls … Those that you get at your Master’s shrines

O wangha charha lo kuriyon meray daata tey darbar diyan
Put on your bangles, girls … Those that you get at your Master’s shrines

Dum gutkoon, dum gutkoon, dum gootkoon, gootkoon gootkon
