What are you guys studying these days?

I too belong to me catagory, i.e. student for life. Always picking up some course or language.

I'm considering taking Mandarin lessons. Have done it before, the basic course in 1998 which lasted three months. Now there's an attractive offer to take Mandarin Course at Vrije Universiteit in Amstredam, lasts six months and they do have advanced courses aswell.

So China, here I come!

I so wanna write Chinese............its like Islamic Calligraphy.......fancy!

I am in grade 12, taking sciences alongside politics, economics etc.........hope i get a research job in microbiology and see where life takes me!

BS(CS) = Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. a 4 year 8 semester course equals to BCS Hons. ( In some regards Masters as it completes 16 years of education).

FAST-Nu ( Foundation for advancement of Science and Technology- National University) is Pakistan's first multicampus private degree awarding institute( I dont know if there are any other). Having Campuses in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabd and Peshawar. Host to huge events evry year Like NASCON, SOFTEC etc. Site http:\\nu.edu.pk

It is among top institutes in Pakistan for Computer Science and Computer Engineering Courses. Check out the HEC website for Top Universities Ranking and you'll find it on 3rd 4th place right after LUMS NUST etc.

By the way for Computer Science it is the best in Pakistan. Students from our university goes to places like Microsoft, Oracle etc.

also i am learning french online, its pretty easy, but some of my friends have told me tht the greammer i use is pretty inappropriate, hey aquil bhai, from where u r have language courses, i mean from which site..

You can google. Write "<language name> Tutorial/Learn".

most important my father is forcing me to learn driving, so by the grace of god, i learned some basis by taking some help on the first day then, i started to drive in the main road by my self the second day, its pretty enjoyable, i need some practice before i take out my car in the busy traffic of karachi, oh my god!!!,

In Pak there's no driving, its surviving. Normally I would advise everyone to LEARN driving from schools but proper driving won't work in Pakistan.

The whole system needs an overhaul not just the people on the road.

hey salam, salman bhai, from where u r doping ur MBA, from IBA, from CBM or zabist or else???, i am going to do engineering from abroad ungergraduate prog, inshallah!!!

I am doing MBA from Karachi University Business School (KUBS).engineering from abroad is a good option particularly from U.S or Australia.

Other things I have planned up after PMP would probably be ITIL V3 Foundation/ITSM, Cobit and of course complete my Masters in IT which I've left half way in between. University requires too much time.

For Cobit u need to do CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification and that provides you a good career path, many people attempt CISM after CISA.

For Cobit u need to do CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification and that provides you a good career path, many people attempt CISM after CISA.

Already done CISA and CISM, I was originally thinking of doing CISSP as well, but I just wanted a good credential in knowning Information security, not pursuing it as a path.

C language is used for embedded systems or low level programming in Linux (for writing Kernels and for security).

Business students usually get into the certifications line much later into their careers which I think is wrong.

I did both in college. It's still the most versatile language, right up there with COBOL... However there is no simple job market for it. You will end up using what you learn from C++ in any object oriented programming.
