What's new

What are the dreams of China’s young graduates?

To buy a BMW, BENZ, AUDI (that is called BBA in China) is not a problem because they all have various models. The problem is the maintenance cost and it's very very high in China. The young graduates just can't afford it.
Traditionally, house is the top priority in young men's buy lists.

Personally, I'd like to suggest young graduates to buy hybrid or electric cars. The operating cost is around 10%-20% of gas cars (BYD QIN for example). It's a cost and environment effective option. But we still need invest more in the charging facilities.

At one point yes, but since Xi took over, eating out is not done, and even legit events like weddings are not participated by officials, and even if they do it's a simple affair.

Right now, one picture and they could be done. thousands are charged each year.

So if you drive around in a BMW, it may not be the world's greatest idea right now.

Change is not on the way, it's here. Also Chinese people really like Audi, it's cheaper and does the job of being German.

Sales are sure to slow down due to a crackdown on corruption on the demand side, and a shakedown, I mean, anti-monopoly investigation, on the supply side. I suspect we will see luxury sales resume when the optics of this crackdown are no longer useful.

I have seen Ford Focus' around (234,000 sold in US in 2013) but have never noticed the Lacross (probably because most Buicks look alike so I never really differentiated it from the other models). 48,000 sold 2013.

Compared to Ford pickup truck, this number is small.

Well people like their big trucks.

Hey I didn't realize the Ford Focus has automatic parking assist....so that may explain its appeal.
