India and Sri Lanka are long time friend. India helped Sri Lanka to get rid from LTTE with sending troops and weapons as well as in time of disasters. Sri Lanka's president also thanked for India's role in Sri Lanka.

Ways of Improving India Sri Lanka Bilateral Relations?

What are the different steps that should be taken by both the countries to improve their bilateral relationship?

if you really want to know,

Put the past behind us , and move forward to build future bridges.

Sri Lanka is free of its civil war and India is an economic boom market.

Its a much more positive setting then a few years ago.

The only way to improve relations is to build mutual trust, And understanding.

Sri Lanka can act as it wishes as long as it takes not of Indian concerns, India should also try to reciprocate that attitude.

Of course there will always be friction.

But given the Close proximity between India and Sri Lanka, Each should take notice of the other.

Frankly that's all that can be said, there are no issues, that are overshadowing the relations.

Simply expanding Civil and Military cooperation will be enough to bring the nations together.

While the chinese are trying to build there base their, Indians are doing their stuff , russians have gone with implict indian consent for further betterment of indo-sri Lankan relations and confidence building measures.Get real people, sri lanka is playing china and before that pakistan against us.

Our tamil brothers have been subjected to a genocide.Does anybody have a clue that it was done with chinese help and now the chinese want their pound of flesh.

This matter is so complicated u know...... Being a Tamilian I feel angered by the war but I dont support LTTE as well. Killing our PM is enough to hate them(even if they r tamil). Now what LTTE left the Srilankan Army finished. Both r culprits.
However there r still some Tamils left, please at-least preserve them.
Atleast the bloody war came to an end.
