This footage shows Burmese workers going to the dining hall for lunch in a factory in a Chinese border city, For money, they all make a fraction of what Chinese workers make and they work long hours, 12-14 working hours a day, factory bosses like to hire them casuse they are hardworking and never complain, they are very content with the working condition and the money which are already several times better than what they can get in Myamar. China is surrounded by heavily populated low income countries to her south, geographically they are very close to China's manufacturing powerhouse Guangdong province, is it a easy and simply way to alleviate larbor shortage in south China?

.
Many igorant fool still think Chinese workers are sweating in factories earning a penny only.

.
These foreign workers might be covered by basic health insurance while they are working in their factories, but I don't think they'll get handsome pension and lifetime healthcare after they retire like what the Chinese government has to pay for every Chinese citizen, so it can save tremendous amount of money for the Chinese government to hire foreign workers.

Hiring foreign workers is beneficial in the short term but dangerous in the long run. Female workers are less dangerous than male workers, because they are less violent. Foreign male workers are potential seeds of crime: theft, robbery, rape... or trying to flirt, seduce indigenous women, get green cards, and then give birth to many hybrids.

The future belongs to artificial intelligence and automation. It will solve the problem of labor shortage.

Glad china is not race obsessed like japan which wont take even fillippino immigrants.

Welcome to workers and maybe immigrants. I understand though that many Burmese 'liberals' are huge anti-Chinese racists. Hope they will not be hired, though they usually get funding from somewhere else...

It's not simple or easy, since China is just too large for foreign workers to alleviate the labor shortage in any meaningful way. For some smaller Chinese cities, maybe.

China’s workforce will drop by 35 million over the next five years, according to the government, adding pressure on the state pension system and forcing Beijing to adopt new measures to meet the demographic challenge.

Experts have long warned Beijing must take action against a declining labour force and rapidly ageing society, which is expected to weigh on the country’s economic progress in the years ahead.

China’s working age population – or those aged between 16 and 59 – fell by 40 million in the 10 years to 2020 and now accounts for 62.3 per cent of the population, according to the
latest census.

“As ageing intensifies, there will be more than 40 million new retirees over the next five years and the number of Chinese workers will see a net fall of 35 million,” the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said in a five-year plan posted online on Wednesday.

Even if the whole Myanmar workforce of 23mil people move to China (which is obviously not possible), it's only going to buy China like 3 years time.

Myanmar is not the only country, more Vietnamese and Laos work in China than Burmese, China also has over 100 million overseas Chinese, they are also potential Chinese workforce in the future and I never said it's the only way to fix the problem, raise birth rate and widely adopting AI technology and automations are some other methods.

Correct.

China is too big, so the problem of labor shortage is also on another level. If Japan, Korea, Taiwan, UAE... receive hundreds of thousands to millions of workers from abroad. So how much does China need? Tens of millions or hundreds of millions? And then that leads to enough demographic, political, economic, security problems...

Hiring workers from abroad and accepting immigrants is the fastest way to destroy China. As the Chinese say: 饮鸩止渴

China is not gonna 'fix' the problem. Importing foreign workers and automation can only ameliorate the issue to a small extent.

Even Singapore, a small country with a large foreign workforce and high automation rate, is still facing labor shortages in many sectors of our economy.

SINGAPORE - Border restrictions and manpower demand in growth sectors have pushed job vacancies in Singapore to an all-time high of 92,100 in June, according to the Ministry of Manpower on Wednesday (Sept 15).

There were 163 job openings for every 100 unemployed persons in June. The ratio of job vacancies to unemployed persons increased to above one for the first time since March 2019. These are seasonally adjusted figures.

“The ongoing border restrictions have affected the availability of manpower in construction and manufacturing,” said the MOM.

“There was also sustained demand in growth sectors like financial and insurance services, professional services, and information and communications.”

Meanwhile, resident unemployment continued to ease in the first half of this year, MOM's second-quarter labour market report showed.

Overall, seasonally adjusted unemployment rates were at 2.7 per cent in June this year, continuing a downtrend.

The seasonally adjusted resident long-term unemployment rate also dipped to 0.9 per cent in June, from highs of 1.1 per cent recorded in both December last year and March this year.

China is considered as hostile, not a desired country that Vietnamese want to seek jobs. Most land in richer and more developed countries in Singapore, Japan, Korea, Australia and the West.

Labor shortage nowadays is very common in developed countries.
Look at UK shortage of foods, gas, workers and everything else after Brexit

Our population problem has been screwed up, accept the reality.
We are the third fool in East Asia, the first two fools are South Korea and Japan. We will soon face negative population growth, it's a good thing to bring in some labor from abroad, don't be picky.
Even we can not give them nationality and green card, but we should give them medical insurance and endowment insurance.

There are a large number of Vietnamese workers in the sugarcane fields in Guangxi. It only needs 5000 CNY a month, it's easy to hire enough Vietnamese.

why cannot you give them nationality and green card. if even with a billion plus people you are so insecure then how do you think you will play a leadership role in international arenaa ?
