Anyway not sure what is the big deal everyone is making it out to be with Contagion. It's just another virus outbreak movie like so many other Hollywood movies in this genre.

What did you expect from Contagion? People dropping dead like flies and turning into zombies? You have World War Z for that, which is an excellent survival-thriller too. Contagion addresses a different aspect of an epidemic/pandemic, the epidemiological study of infectious disease. Any similarity with this COVID-19 pandemic notwithstanding, it was catered to a different genre of audience.

Steven Soderbergh is a brilliant filmmaker, Side Effects and Traffic are recommended to those yet to watch them.

Just a bit more serious and better-made than most of the other ones.
But, yeah, I don't get the hype.
