War crimes: BD forms panel to gather info on 195 Pakistan Army soldiers

. . .
By the way, who is that lady on your DP dude?? She reminds me of some politician in Pak??

Google up Aafia Siddiqui.

Btw whenever you are wondering about a picture, you can right click and search image through google.

Fantastic move. Great move Bangladesh.

We must bring the Pakistani Army to justice for the attempted genocide and crimes against humanity.

This will bring to international attention how Pakistan harbours war criminals just like it harbors international terrorists like Osama Bin Laden.

No. Bangladesh is undertaking this exercise to put Pakistan's hypocrisy on display. Pakistan tried to use the exact same Tripartite agreement to claim Jamaat-e-Islami leader Nizami could not be tried for war crimes. If Pakistan is so keen on this agreement, then why hasn't it prosecuted these 195 Pakistani soldiers for war crimes?
so 195 persons raped millions of bengalis. i will just said proud to be a pakistani man.:sarcastic:

we are harbouring kalboshan yadav in same way we were hiding osama bin ladin. the only difference was that the death sentence was executed by joint death squad of us and pakistan

There is a war hague crime tribunal.. BD can very well approach them with sufficient data and evidence..

Sure... But than again multiple international bodies have already declared Bangladeshi war tribunals as bogus as being used to carry out extra judicial murders ..

Bangladesh should by all means approach The Hague ... But I doubt they ever will ?:D

26,000 civilian "casualties" was what was reported in this report.

http://www.bangla2000.com/Bangladesh/Independence-War/Report-Hamoodur-Rahman/chapter2.shtm

Chapter 2 para 33:

33. Different figures were mentioned by different persons in authority but the latest statement supplied to us by the GHQ shows approximately 26,000 persons killed during the action by the Pakistan Army. This figure is based on situation reports submitted from time to time by the Eastern Command to the General Headquarters. It is possible that even these figures may contain an element of exaggeration as the lower formations may have magnified their own achievements in quelling the rebellion. However, in the absence of any other reliable date, the Commission is of the view that the latest figure supplied by the GHQ should be accepted. An important consideration which has influenced us in accepting this figure as reasonably correct is the fact that the reports were sent from East Pakistan to GHQ at a time when the Army Officers in East Pakistan could have had no notion whatsoever of any accountability in this behalf.

There are other neutral sources .. Books written after collecting data, interviews of so called survivors, indian army officers aswell as PA officers...

Books like War & Succession,Dead Reckoning...

A committee has been formed to gather information on the 195 Pakistan Army men who allegedly committed crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971, Law Minister Anisul Huq has said.

Huq told Parliament on Wednesday that the constitution of the committee was the 'first' step.

He said the number of Pakistani army officials who had perpetrated war crimes was 195 or more.

"Gathering information on them through the committee is under way. The next step will be decided after analysing the information collected," the minister added.

Under a tripartite deal with Bangladesh and India after the war, Pakistan took back its 195 army personnel, detained in Bangladesh on war crimes charges, on condition that it will try them.

Forty-four years have passed but the country has not tried them.

The issue reemerged when citizens in Bangladesh renewed the demand to try them in response to Pakistan's criticism of the war crimes trial and the execution of war criminals in Bangladesh.
solution to every political problem is to execute Bangladeshi opposition members on sham war crimes
while Daesh continues to pose new threats in the country

I will have to read them all some time. I would like to get the account from Pakistani side more and come to conclusion that truth lies somewhere in the middle (like it usually does) and will probably not have an exact number.

I used to believe Bangladeshis without question when I joined this forum, but they (BD members here) have managed to turn me against that now by the way they distort all kinds of things and drag you down while they do it.

Apart from Hamood Ur Rahman report I don't think much has been written with such detail.. The report doesn't even spare PA or GOP.

What a useless exercise I mean what would they gain from it?

In wake of recent Kashmir protests Afghanistan and Bangladesh have behaved pretty awkwardly by the way ........................ are they trying to divert attention and blame Pakistan for any or everything wrong with them.

.
@User are you joking. BD and Afghanistan are on there knees in front of there master INDIA. Hats off to India in manipulating both these countries. and let suppose what could have they done to Kashmir cause even if they were not under Indian spell.
Afghanistan is hardly keeping peace in kabul leave the rest of Afghanistan to talis
and Bangladesh is busy in executing all of its opposition through the cause of 1971 traitors.
They both are dangerous friends to have.

Pakistan is bad, evil so any voice it raises for Kashmiris is null void...................... is the goal I think. I said exactly the same thing as you.
