Afghanistan, US believe Pakistan not doing enough: experts

LAHORE: Afghan and US officials believe that Pakistan is not fully cooperating in the war on terror, and want Pakistan to ‘do more’ to capture Osama Bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahri and Mullah Muhammad Umar, experts and analysts said in Geo television’s Foreign Affairs programme on Wednesday.

Rahimullah Yousafzai, a senior journalist, said that Afghan officials and the US administration wanted to build pressure on Pakistan to force it to do something extraordinary. He said that the US attacked Afghanistan either to capture or kill Osama, Zawahri and Mullah Umar, but it could not achieve this objective. The US officials believe that Osama, Zawahri and Mullah Umar are hiding in Pakistan along the Afghan border, but Pakistan is not arresting them, Yousafzai said. “In fact, US and Afghan officials are levelling such allegations against Pakistan to hide their failure to capture the top Al Qaeda leadership,” he added.

Air Marshall (r) Riazudin Sheikh said the US believed that it was not getting the equal return against its $1.2 billion financial support to Pakistan. He asked Pakistan to take a firm stand against such allegations. Sheikh said the Afghan government deliberately ignored Pakistan’s proposals to guard borders, since it wanted to continue levelling such allegations against Pakistan in future.

Dear Nasir,
First of all i would like to ask from all the mulim umma that there is not one muslim state that can ask US that why he has invaded Iraq and still no sig of SO CALLED WMD, hundreds of innocent iraqi muslims this all is doing US by itself and OBL and all these other guys are helping Uncle SAM with his cause. I think the hour for muslim nations are coming very near to decide thats why US is mounting pressure on us and we are forced to do what SAM orders us and giving us peanuts for all that Pakistani adminstration is doing for them, One of the reason that afg govt not agreeing to fence the border is that they still think that the durand line is not the border and Pakistan has taken its area that they will soon get it back (ALLAH forbid) anyway this is quite impossible but this is what they think and thier intension. Our foriegn policy never helped us i dont kow what our think tank is doing? Look at Iran they dont let US to dictate terms on them, i am expecting a change in muslim umma very soon, may ALLAH Help us AMIN

Dear Brothers!
In my opinion i really think that Pakistan government should take a firm stand against the allegations by anyone and everone especially Afghanistan. What on earth have they done to stop terrorism! They want us to fight a war and then they bring Durand line up. Well President Musharaf should tell them to shut up and expect no cooperation until they rest their anti-pakistani views.
