Yes, also knowing Urdu is essential in Pakistan.

You need to know Urdu. Even when I was in Pakistan in 2007 I got strange looks when I was speaking bad Urdu.

UK police has never been armed as in having standard issue weapons. Only specialist officers attached to Armed Response Vehicles have guns. You can tell because mostly they use 4WD BMW X5s or Range Rovers.

Try speaking urdu to british people in UK.
Its Pakistans national language thats why they would like you to use it. Although they can be abit harsh in wanting their kids to speak it.

When they are out on patrol they have their truncheon, smetimes taser. Other than it's depend on your smarts in being able to talk people down and your partner. If crap hits the fan then there is few minutes of utter fear until help arrives ...
