VT1A main battle tank, a twin young brother of Al-Khalid MBT?

what is the use of this tank when china have MBT2000, T99, T98? same thing with a different name

sir as far as i get it, the newer VT1A is a bit downgraded version of Type 99 for export to developing countries. it is not necessarily to be deleivered as down graded version but being a cousin to AlKhaild it can integrate necessary system if required by customer and if the customer wants it cheap, its basic configration is inferior to Type 99.
comparing it with AlKhalid is point less as AlKhalid is fully fuctional tank with all sensors integrated according to PA requirment whereas VT1A is just a basic tank comfigration out of which one have to make an AlKhalid for himself!!

Given what is stated in by the source quoted in post 8 ("VT1A MBT is a scaled down Type98/99 MBT built for export and similar to rest of the Type98/99 series of MBT"), how does this clarify anything?

You state VT1A belongs to Type 99 family. I'm willing to accept that, but on what basis do you make that statement (i.e. sources)?

If so, how can we tell the difference with the Type96 family, to which you say the Al Khalid (MBT 2000) belongs?
