It is rather strange to hear lessons about democracy in Russia from a man who lives in a country which is ruled by Queen for 61 years. And nobody, by the way, did not choose her.

Those Oligarchs living in London are the curse of Russia it was because of Yeltsin they robbed Russia when she was at her weakest and bought cheap state assets for next to nothing, it was one of the biggest scams in living history. No, she had enough power. Only she can announces the war, she - Chief of the Army, she can dissolve the parliament and so much more. In difficult times, the queens will certainly will use these rights.

Vladimir Putin is the best leader in the world bar none. He is not a president or prime minister, he is a leader of men. The dude is a once in a lifetime leader. He is one of the all time great leaders. I have the highest respect for this man.

The way I see it, leaders like Putin and Xi, doesn't matter if they are good or not, the West condemns them because of their election or lack of it. Leaders like Obama gets support doesn't matter how much he can actually change and how good he is.

The west forgets, leaders are used to lead the country not to look good, and btw Putin is so much cooler than Obama and Xi looks to be more calm than Obama too.

Reading these comments from russian members do tell a story, and it is, what the West reports and what's actually happening in places are not the same. You think i know that being Chinese, but I guess if you keep hearing it....

Man, he is better than others. He single-handedly pulled Russia out of chaos. Stop seeing from UK's lenses and see from a neutral perspective.

- A stupid war on Syria might have been disastrous for entire Asia as oil prices would have ballooned.

- You people only think about your own defence companies and not rest of the world.

- Had Putin not intervened, it would have been a disaster. While I am not anti-west, I disagree with the war on Syria as the ones whom Assad is opposing are worse than cannibals and animals. Research about these lunatics.

- NATO cannot keep invading any and every country at will. There has to be a limit.

Vladimir Putin Might Seek 4th Presidential Term In 2018

I'd be OK with democracy as an ideology trying out the removal of the 2-terms-max limit for top country leaders, provided that;

- these governments keep doing elections at least every 4 years
- they keep campaigning laws fair and open to all
- they embrace the internet as a way for all citizens to vote on more and more policy issues (national and local, with the exception of foreign policy perhaps)

Personally, I have no real opinion on Putin, I neither especially like nor dislike him. He is, however, in his own right a formidable leader who acts effectively in his people's best interests.
