Tussi jandae ho..America is like Sweet poison.

although my university offers a top notch defense studies masters degree, once my mba is done i'm very tempted to join that program. its even managed by an ex-cia, i met the guy some time ago. I being from south asia and from IT/finance background, he told me about some drool worthy opportunities.

this is the good part
the 42-year-old Lall has a doctorate in aeronautics and an MBA from US universities. His first assignment was with the Nationial Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and then with Raytheon on combat systems, followed by Boeing.
So which company would that be HAL or TATA or Mahindra Aerospace.........????

Tell the Missus that she'll not have to do the dishes anymore, or better still not have to persuade you to do it. :azn:
That works.

delhi is still rough place for foreigners, i'm keeping a keen eye on its social development. lets hope i can bring her back.

I am sure F18 and F16 are out of competition.. thats the reason our Antony tried his best to avoid Mr gates.

Delhi is not the only city in India that you can live and work in (though it may be home). There is something known as quality of life in India now. Ideally work for a Indian multinational. Best of both worlds!

And with the growing aviation business, fly back to Delhi whenever possible for a weekend.

that's true cap... i want to complete that defence studies program here (and if possible work for NSA, or DoD for a few years). At that point i think it would be great to return home and work for a think tank or GOI . Let us see how things develop.

I think he came to know that F-18 or even F-16 won't win MMRCA and Boeing might close Indian operations, so better to quit..he he he

Is he moved to Rafale India Ltd?

Firstly LM manufacture the F-16IN so that's irrelevant and secondly even if Boeing lose out on the MMRCA they still stand to gain BILLIONS in India. The MMRCA is just a small piece of the much larger pie in India. There is still much Boeing can/is doing in India : AH-64D, Chinooks,P-8i,C-17 this alone amounts to almost $20 Bn let alone future options for all these (P-8i has option for 10 more and a "diet" version is on offer to ICG/IN, C-17 has options for 6 more, many say both Apache and Chinook orders already likely to increase significantly also). And that's forgetting many other RFIs Boeing is/has responding to including the N-MMRCA for the IN. And I haven't even talked about the non-military side Indian airlines are to increase 4-5 times in size by 2020, already operating a huge fleet of Boeings (737,747,777) with the 787 on order for many Indian airlines. So the scope for expansion is HUGE (IndiGo just ordered 159 Airbus' the largest order in aviation HISTORY).

So the statement that Boeing will just shut down their Indian office if they lose the MMRCA is just stupidity.

+can anyone tell me what is e stays of the C-17 order for the IAF it seems to have stalled as of late with reports of even more being ordered (up to 20 some reports have said) but I don't believe a single one has ACTUALLY been ordered yet right??

Do that when you can, you will not be sorry. Good Luck towards that end.
And, BTW, India is comfortable with reqd. mod-cons for expatriates too. ;)
