New Delhi, March 17 (IANS) Vivek Lall, the soft-spoken vice president for Boeing's defence, space and security operations in India, is quitting the world's biggest aerospace company to join one of the top 10 Indian companies venturing into all these fields.

Lall declined to mention which company with his usual 'I will check and let you know' smile, but authoritative sources in the industry told India Strategic defence magazine (..:: India Strategic ::.. Home Page: The authoritative monthly on Defence and Strategic Affairs.) that it would be one of the Mumbai-based companies, and that he would be its CEO.

He leaves Boeing with high credits for winning major orders for 10 C-17 heavy-lift aircraft (with six more likely to follow) for the Indian Air Force (IAF), 12 P-8I multimission maritime aircraft for the Indian Navy, and Harpoon missiles for both the IAF and navy.

Lall has spearheaded the Boeing campaign for the 126-plus medium multi- role combat aircraft, Apache AH 64D combat helicopters and Chinook heavy- lift helicopters for the IAF, the results of which are expected within 2011.

Son of an Indian diplomat and born in Indonesia, the 42-year-old Lall has a doctorate in aeronautics and an MBA from US universities. His first assignment was with the Nationial Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and then with Raytheon on combat systems, followed by Boeing.

Lall is expected to join his new assignment with the Indian company in April after a mandatory 30-day notice to Boeing.

His first job, he said, is to set up a team to work towards futuristic aerospace platforms and systems.

Its not just economic growth....most folks who left left in their youth to pursue eduction and work experience.....I think many folks coming back want to help the motherland....

More Indians need to come back to their mother land.

india should give citizenship to those of INdian descent that would help and stop alienating them like the Israelis and other countries. instead, they make us wait go to BS like live in India for 20 yrs in order to obtain.....and yet India complains of H1 visa...the nerve..lol

Tell the Missus that she'll not have to do the dishes anymore, or better still not have to persuade you to do it. :azn:
That works.
