Visiting Dubai? Educate yourself first!!!

If you're white and well off thats good enough. In Dubai there is not a single poor white person. I'm seriously yet to see some white guy struggling to make ends meet. Goto Jumeira beach at any time of the work week and you'll see westerners sun bathing and chilling and having a great time.

Seriously you don't know how envious we pseudo-locals - the south Asian expats who have lived here all our lives - get of westerners. The locals already worship white people, the pseudo locals get all their brunt.

Never knew that you had been a Dubaian before. You don't fit the snobbish stereotype profile we have of white Dubai girls I guess we're all prisoners of perceptions. Then again you left

how's the relationship between Iranians and Pakistanis/Indians over there?
do people get along or is there a lot of racism?
I heard Iranians over there are really weird and from what I saw 3 years ago it seems true, actually everybody over there was weird. Iranians were complete idiots/*** holes and Pakistani/Indians kept staring at me

now that you say that I remember an EXTREMELY weird thing that happened to me over there.
I was in a grocery store and these two arabs in burkas, the complete package, kept following me!!!!! I don't even know if they were really women b/c I could only see their eyes! They kept following me and they weren't hiding it. Finally I dropped my **** and walked out and they came in the street but they stopped there!
I was paranoid for a week!!!
The Pakistanis and Indians LITERALLY stared at my face where ever I went and Iranians were the rudest people there. My cousins would beat their Philippino maid for fun!
The only normal ppl were white people and East Asians. I swear I'm not making that **** up, that place is FUDGED UP!

Iranians are pretty cool, friendly people. Not at all like Mullahs you see on TV.

Most of them are no good in English and in universities you can see them roam around with translators, so they tend to stick around with Iranians only.

yeah I noticed that.
I'm Iranian and since I heard the stereo type before going there I paid close attention to how they behave and I was disgusted.
I was in a cafe/hookah place and there were a group of Iranians there as well. When ever the waitress came to get their orders they would speak Persian to her, and since over there the poor are basically slaves, the waitress would just smile and they would laugh at her!!!! After they had their fun they would give their order and this **** would continue for the whole time!

It's the way the country is, Iranians just go there to blow off steam and make some quick cash. It's basically las vegas to them minus the gambling.
