There are places where temperatures below 0 and there is snow as Mẫu Sơn mountain, Sapa Town...

Snow is very rare in Viet Nam. On average, snow fell only once per year and it occurs mostly in January. The latest snow fall in Viet Nam were on 18/1/2011 and 16/3/2011. However, there was no snow fall in the early 2012. On 13/2/1968, snow fell for more than 10 straight hours and that was the longest duration of snow fall ever recorded in the modern era. Back in the 1500's (Little Ice Age ?), there was a poem describing snow fell as far as 100 km south of Ha Noi.

Gành Đá Đĩa - DA DIA RAPIDS

Da Dia Rapids is located in An Ninh Dong Commune, Tuy An District, Phu Yen Province.
It is strangely structured rocks include large upright stones equally arranged in a star pattern.

Ghenh Da Dia (or the Cliff of Stone Plates) is a baffling and beautiful riddle of Nature, and set in stone for all time. It’s like a giant jigsaw, irritatingly made of the same shaped pieces, and forming a solidified structure that has proved more than just a curiosity for thousands. Looking down on it, visitors often liken it to a gigantic beehive, others as a pile of stone plates. For despite a lengthy series of historical, archeological and scientific probes of the cliff’s square kilometer, its formation remains a mystery. Even counting the stone columns has failed to yield an exact figure as exhausted researchers usually call a halt at around 35,000.The stones are 60-80cm in visible height and 20-30cm across and cluster round a small fresh water pond that is fed by underground rivers and never dries up. Not surprisingly researchers find intriguing - and perhaps frustrating - comparison between.
The rapids have been listed as a National Heritage Site by the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Condo like this costs at least $100,000 USD per unit depends on the unit size. This kind of residential project is in a serious decline as developers have realized most can't afford this kind of houses. Now, developers have focused on building cheaper hi-rise condo with average selling price around $25,000 USD per unit instead; this kind of condo is selling like hot cakes that you have to register and wait in line before developers even start building them:P

small_1219722584.nv_.jpg

Vovinam (Vietnamese: Việt Võ Đạo, Martial Arts of Vietnam) is a Vietnamese martial art.
Vovinam is practiced with and without weapons. It is based on the principle of between hard and soft. It includes training of the body as well as the mind. It uses force and reaction of the opponent. Vovinam also includes hand, elbow, kicks, escape- and levering techniques. Both attack and defense techniques are trained, as well as forms, combat and traditional wrestling. The wide range of techniques include punching, kicking etc. as well as forms, wrestling, sword, staff, axe, folding fan and others.
Self-defense techniques cover defense against weaponless attacks like choking from behind and defense against attacks with knife or sword. Advanced students learn to combine the techniques and learn to defend themselves against armed opponents. Instructors train traditional weapons like the long stick, short stick, knife, sword and sabre. Thereby the weapons serve as training devices for reaching optimal control of body and mind.

A lost art in Vietnam?

The renowned craftsmen of Dai Bai bronze craft village only remain in a very small number. It has been extremely difficult for them to maintain this traditional occupation as the rhythm of the modern living drum has reverberated through the village, causing many social difficulties for a community once rich in cultural tradition.

Dai Bai village is situated by Bai river's bank in Gia Luong district, Bac Ninh province. Its pseudonym is Buoi village. Dai Bai is famous for casting and forging bronze works.
