Two-way trade between Vietnam and India has increased almost 20-fold during the past decade, the Indian Consul General has said.

Bilateral trade rose from US$200 million in 2000 to over $1.2 billion in 2006, $2.7 billion in 2010 and $3.9 billion in 2011.

Abhay Thakur affirmed that Vietnam has always been a special and sincere friend of India, in both bilateral ties and at regional forums, adding that Vietnam remains in a strategic position in the foreign priorities under the “Look East” policy of India.

He said India is willing to further strengthen cooperative contents with Vietnam based on the spirit of the “Vietnam-India Strategic Cooperation” that was signed by the two countries in 2007, especially in the fields of business, science and technology and culture.

The total investment of Indian enterprises in Vietnam has now reached more than $771 million and two-way trade between the two countries is expected to hit $7 billion by 2015.

Indians and Viets can keep protesting against us but that won't make a difference. The population, land area, GDP, military forces of India and Vietnam combined is still smaller than China.

.
When the world has more and more demonstrations against China, this means China is really rising. Think otherwise, not a bad thing.

The demonstration is not because China is rising...It is to protest China's arrogance...banning fishing and cutting cables shows though China is risen, Chinese have not...

Vietnam has chosen India as suppliers of raw materials for our manufacturing industry to avoid dependency of China too much. We need to strengthen further to do that.
Previously, most the raw material for production of industry Vietnam's are imported from China.

I wish you had been there during the times of the Mongol invasions.

You would have achieved what the emperor and general of the times didn't: Scare them away with sheer numbers.

60000 Vs. 165 millions!

You would have also scared off the Manchus and the Birts and other Europeans, probably the Japs as well.

You managed to soooo scare us you know.

Only problem with Chinese is their arrogance. I even heard that they made claims in Arctic ocean.

Behind this "arrogance" lies a deep sense of humiliation and inferiority complex.

Not too difficult to see actually.
