US probably knows the weakness. It is ust a better armored T72 with good fire control and optics. Iraq probably won't use it as the MBT against other tanks because they have the better Abrams. Iraq also bought new sights for the Abrams indicating they want to keep them and keep operating them side by side with the T90

The current administration (Al-Abadi) is doing well by trying to have cordial ties with both the US (West) and East (Russia and China) at the same time. Similar to many other Arab countries of late, KSA included. Best way forward IMO.

However next time around, brother, post such threads and news on the Arab Section or the Iraqi Armed Forces thread.

Any serious plans of kickstarting an indigenous arms industry? There have been talk about this from certain Iraqi politicians and on Arab military forums but so far there has not been much information. It is most likely kept "secret" for now.

Hopefully we will see some joint projects one day. Much needed.
