Verdict in Jayalalita DA case

How much out of politics is our LALLU????? He is right back in the game after just few days in jail while his appeal is pending in Courts. Same will be with Ms.Jayalalitha. She will be also back in the Game after spending few days in jail. But the difference will be a puppet in the seat of CM and she holding the strings. Campaigning in elections will as usual will go on won't be any change in politics.

well at least you don't see Lalu in parliament !
It is not true that this conviction will have no effect on Tamil nadu politics .

.
The very reason why a hefty bond amount is promulgated by courts is to deter the ' accused ' not to breach bail easily ...

Now apply the same wording of your own upon hefty fines which you were wondering:
In your own language:

100 crore fine?:eek::eek::eek:

Has any individual faced such a large fine before? I wonder how they arrive at the figure.

That's about $16.6 million.:suicide:

The very reason why a hefty fine amount is promulgated by courts is to deter the ' accused ' not to commit crime easily ...

So whats the problem now when you wonder about hefty fine of 100 crores on her?
What is the sauce for the goose should not be the sauce for the gender?
Errr..

.
Hope Indo-Lankan relations can improve after this :yahoo:

If DMK comes to power, consider the relations fucked.

Under DMK any bit of development in TN will go down the drain, and Sri Lanka Bogeyman will be used to tame public backlash on Govt misrule.

You don't see Lallu in (o_OAssembly) But what is the difference????? If his party wins then again somebody like Rabridevi (rabri without mali (malai for Lallu)) will be on CM throne!! He has now again have his langotia yaar Nitish Kumar back with him!!!

TN people has to choose between 2 corrupt Poles AIDMK & DMK!!! No other choice!!! Hope they will select less corrupt Ms.Jayalalitha!!!!

True .
because it has got lot to do with people who vote and elect parties led by such convicted leaders

and when did we ever have such a clear choice between non-corrupt and corrupt ?

off course the choice has almost always between two unequal evils.

.
Are her supporters going to build a temple for her now?

. . .
So you are maintaining the same position anyway..

Your problem is you are reading things out of context that too without applying your mind in an unbiased way .

It's a simple expression of disbelief .

even I have that question in my mind as to how courts come to particular number like that ..say 10,000 crore bail amount for Subrato Roy or 100 crore fine to Jayalalitha .

And you failed on the basics!!!
Judges have enormous discretionary power..
Mull it over..
Or discharge the methane once again...

And you failed on the basics!!!

Each Court of law right from magisterial court to Apex court have stipulated limits with regards of quantum of punishment and fine that can be pronounced by the said court !

Did they teach you those basics in school ?

Courts have discretionary power with regards to deciding the bail amount and fine case by case .

where did I dispute the discretionary power of Judges ?

Quantum of punishment must be within prescribed limits ...and therefore I said I wonder what is the method by which Courts decide upon particular number or amount of fine .

Can you discern the difference ?

Probably you are too frustrated to do so ...or probably it is out of bounds of your level of maturity given the constant need to make use of instigating remarks .

first you linked me Janon's post ...that means you react without reading ...and then you go on picking on words and phrases without trying to understand what they actually mean .

Go on ...if you must pick fights out of self serving ego trips !

Best of luck !!!

I can see that you are struggling badly....If not being stewed under your own sauce...

Just shows up your shallow understanding of issues .

You fail again and again to realize the fine issue that is being highlighted .

why do you refuse to see that world is not all about black and white ..but rather ' shades of gray'

Is it too difficult for you understand that Courts discretionary power have to be within certain prescribed limits .

There is definite division of labor throughout hierarchy of judiciary as to which court can pronounce how much fine and how much punishment .

Is it really difficult for you understand that Judges just can't run courts as their personal fiefdoms based on glorious enormous discretionary powers vested in them.

There must be reasoning and basis how Courts come to conclusion about specific amount of fine ...

There is method to even each kind of madness .

here we are talking about Justice !

I do not think that Omniscient discretionary power is all the basis to decide about random amount of fine !!!

Go and read basics of Indian legal system and the limits imposed on the courts about amount of fine and quantum of punishment each court can pronounce and then come for further argument .
