Yeah I always wondered that as well.

When I first saw his username, I thought he was half-Pakistani and half-Chinese.

But then he said he has no connection to China.

What they do is pretend to be a victim, then turn the tables on the scammer. One epic setup involved a guy who sent a scammer on a thousand-mile "treasure hunt" through the namibian desert, chasing a buoy drifting on the ocean, which was supposedly loaded with diamonds and a GPS transponder.

Some of the scammers ended up getting killed by other thugs, which I don't recommend, but it's some fun reading.
