And about containing china....we are never part of that plan...and Indian govt made it clear..and I feel Americans resonate the same thing...as a recent statement from US government says....we will continue to support India..even though we are not on same page on 'some' issues!

Anyway, India knows what to ask for from US and what not to ask for. India also know that US is stingy when it comes ToT and prone to impose sanctions. As of now, to build nuke A/C careers, 5th Gen fighters or nuclear submarines or any critical weapons, India will rely on Russia, and France and Israel to lesser extent. Yes, there is a differential in tech when it comes to US and Russia, but buying from Russia gives India the independence and India seem not to mind much about the tech difference.
