It is your country, that has "travel advisories" warning tourists of the high risk of rape and sexual assault in India.

Whereas no such travel advisories have been issued against us.

In the mind of the average person in the world, the phrase "gang rape" is most associated with India. Not with China.

Steps are being taken..more police patrols...fast track courts....

There are 1.2billion people in India and a very very open media.... there is bound to be a few sick men who will do anything..
If you look at the UN reports you will know per 100000 people the ratio of rapes is actually quiet less.... but the population itself and the open media gives an impression of rapes being "common" .

Issues such as rape are very sensitive issue..I am very disappointed to see an immature behavior of many old/senior members,and their prime example is their abusive comments on rape threads.
But a question arises here,that no matter how much we try to avoid this,why do we see such posts again and again?
Various factors are responsible to it,few are described as follows:

Member's psychology and attitude


When some members log in to PDF their main objective is:
--To insult members of opposing countries.
--To show off,that my country is safer then yours
--To prove that my knowledge is better then you;you are an illiterate person.

Rather then:
--What is new?
--To contribute thread in a better way.
--To learn..oh no,it is an insult for all of you that you learn something form some one,from your senior's,Think-tanks,Professionals or to follow administration's guide.

So tell me honestly,all of you,Indians and Chinese friends,if such immature attitude will continue,then how things will be resolved and you will contribute in better way?

I have myself contributed several time in rape thread,and due to constructive tone,I never faced a troller,Alhadmdulliah,whether he/she is an Indian or my fellow Pakistani,but even an Indian poster have responded me very nicely and Chinese has as well in other topics.

So,you all must respect to each other.
--Contribute positively
--Share suggestion
--Ignore troll post,complain to mods.
And I hope that all your problems will be solved.

Change your attitude,your hypocratic behavior,before pointing out your fingers on other,see yourself as well.

Even if the popular 1 rape per 20 minutes is taken into account, that makes upto 26,280 rapes for a population of 1.2 billion and if every rape is considered a gang rape with an average of 2 rapists/rape case that makes 52,560 rapists for a male population of roughly 600million, which is very much inside the acceptable norms.

I dont think most Indian members do that.. If I was to do what you say we do , I would do it the following way

As per UNDP, no. of rapes per 100,000 population in India is 1.8
As per SATP.Org, no. of terrorist related deaths in Pakistan per 100,000 population is 3.38

So getting killed in terrorist incident in Pakistan is 1.9 time more probable than it is to get raped in India..

I dont think anyone has put it like this so far on this forum... See what I mean...
