USA will never win the Afghanistan war

George W Bush, an impulsive unilateralist with "you are with us or against us" worldview, was over-eager to project America's military might, without adequately considering the long-term consequences. Now we have got what we have at hand in Afghanistan and Iraq. Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have exacted an enormous blood price, have led to the slaughter of tens of thousands of innocent people, immense financial expense to the US estimated to be as high as $6 trillion or may be more and still no win in sight. It is surprising there is no great US public outcry.

.
There were several objectives to the Afghan War and the War on Terror:

1. Create instability in the Muslim World and around China to prevent any competitor from emerging that can challenge US economic or political power.

2. Destroy as much infrastructure as possible.

3. Keep the military-industrial complex happy.

4. Ensure sufficient oil supplies from the Middle East and allow Afghanistan to be a pipeline for Caspian Sea oil, if possible. (Karzai and Khalilzad were oil executive before their current roles.)

5. Strengthen the geostrategic position of Israel.

6. Ensure that the drug trade continues to provide dividends to various allies and agencies.

7. And most recently, to prevent the success of Belt and Road Initiative.

Yes, these objectives have been met. So the war has been a resounding success. But the cost of war in the trillions, the lost confidence by the American public, the lack of investment in American infrastructure because funds were diverted to the defense sector, and loss of prestige and moral authority on the world stage have been very damaging.

Was it worth it? Probably not. There were alternative paths that could have yielded better results. But this is how empires collapse. Wars, overspent treasury, lack of political foresight, inability to accept modern ideas, and internal corruption lead to collapse of institutions and then the foundation of civil society. The Romas were no different, nor the Arabs, Turks, Persians, Moghuls, or Egyptians.

Yaaaaayy, now congratulate them and blow their dick horns

US has already won the afghanistan war. Period.

These guys will claim an afghani here and a taliban there. Ab kya wahan americans hi hone chahiye.

.
Not every war is fought till bitter end. It's an armed conflict that has certain goals, objectives which were met and we were successful in driving away the talibans from main political centres, raised and established the ANA and other security apparatus sufficient enough to defend those important power centres. We have committed and continue to commit just enough troops to sustain all of that.
This is not about winning a war or something, these kind of asymmetrical conflicts doesn't have such things as winning or victory.( yes our presidents in the past have used the term "winning " not because it's related to this conflict but because they are mostly ignorant on these kind of conflicts/ military situation )

The bottom line is we had objectives, we went in and achieved those. Just because you have people/taliban surviving in the remote parts of rural Afghanistan /Pakistan doesn't mean we lost.
Not quite achieved. Russia and China have not been fully contained. Pakistan has not been denuclearized.

.
And this is exactly the outcome that U.S want for occupying Afghanistan till they wish, but some smart foolshere will never understand that. LOL :rofl::rofl:
