USA to spend $413bn more on Afghan war

Great.. no matter how much you spend, you are tying to fill a black-hole.

But it will be great that USA would loose a war after spending 1.5 Trillion Dollars and some 20,000 soldiers.. :usflag:

Best of luck Mr. Obama

loose a war?

The war was won before it started son :usflag:

This is messed up here the economy in USA going in gutter and they want to spend more .... what a joke.

The Economy is getting better, we paid a Trillion Dollars toward our Debt this year alone... things are looking up....

Besides this money is from our Military Budget

USA is the problem not solution for Afghanistan, the longer it stays, the more chaos it will cause for the whole region and not just Afghanistan.

The misinterpretation of current events seems to be the theme of this post. The US is clearly outlining its agenda in Afghanistan for the near future. US and NATO forces will begin withdrawing in accordance with an agreement with the Afghan Government and with the completed training of the Afghan Security Forces in “2014”. Afghan Security Forces are receiving the proper training to independently protect their people and serve the common good. Is it not inaccurate to say that the “US is not going anywhere.” Our phased withdrawal from Iraq provides an excellent example of our commitment to a phased withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Afghanistan continues to heal from wounds inflicted by Taliban. Let us review the facts. Are you aware the Lashkar Gah cotton factory in Helmand Province recently reopened? The factory’s reopening restores 175 jobs, and is expected to create up to 225 more new jobs in the coming months. Did you know the teacher training college in Lashkar Gah, one of 42 across Afghanistan, is now offering programs to certify Afghans as professional teachers? This new effort by the Ministry of Education is designed to help rebuild the nation’s education infrastructure and will eventually be implemented at each of its teacher training colleges. Did you know, Uruzgan Province is experiencing tremendous growth in education opportunities, with 250 schools now open and staffed by more than 1,100 teachers and 425 trainees? In 2006, only 36 schools were operating in the province. Did you know in Behsod District, Wardak Province, four health centers were opened to the public and are now serving more than 80,000 people? This number reflects 90 percent of the district’s population.

Progress in Afghanistan Highlighted by Business Growth, Job Creation and New Infrastructure Projects

Do not these facts prove that the US is creating solutions for Afghanistan and not “problems”, wouldn’t you agree? US and NATO forces continue to lead Afghanistan towards representative government and prosperity and it is not a question of “how much we spend” but, money aside, completing basic infrastructure for the people of Afghanistan to build upon! The announcement of the “2014” withdrawal date clearly suggests everything is getting done according to plan. We don’t doubt for a second that the Taliban mouthpiece will see this as another opportunity to start propaganda but before drawing a conclusion, we ask you to review the facts! Did you know, in the 90 days before 25 November, our Special Operations Forces conducted 1,756 operations resulting in 385 insurgent leaders either killed or captured, 909 lower level fighters killed and 2,590 insurgents captured? Do you still think “US would lose this war”? Are you not yourself outside of Afghanistan? Do you now experience fear, the fear that you once used against innocents, now follows you?

The US and NATO will continue to fight insurgents and leave Afghanistan a more secure and stable nation. People have already started enjoying the normality of a free region. Afghan national police are now actively recruiting women and thousands gathered for the first pop concert in 30 years in Lashkar Gha to hear Farhad Darya, one of Afghanistan’s most famous pop musicians.
