After this video of Saudi fighter jet being intercepted by a Yemeni anti air missile, was released one thing that needs to be noticed was the FLIR logo on top of the video and FLIR logo on the Pod that was shown in the video. This clearly shows that Houthis were able to acquire these pods from USA.

In July 2009, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, the Pentagon’s main arms broker, approved a so-called Pseudo-Foreign Military Sales, or Pseudo-FMS, deal that included three Ultra 8500 turrets “or equivalent,” as well as other equipment and contractor support.

The full package, intended as an upgrade for Yemen’s Huey II helicopters, had an estimated value of more than $3.7 million. The Ultra 8500s by themselves were worth more than $600,000 apiece.

above is the invoice showing they were sold by USA. I think Saudis should start using their brains what USA is actually doing to them.

the detailed copy of this transaction can be attained from US Gov Freedom of Information Act
website.

.
Every one blamed Iran for Ballistic missiles now lets see how many blame USA for this tracking turret which really Fcuks a Fighter Jet.

.
these guys are stupid its drop tank now f-15 wreckage:lol:

. . .
When ever a ground based RADAR locks on to jet the fighter Jet knows where the RADAR is so it can evade the Lock or defend it's self from missile. But in this video we clearly see that the jet was taken with surprise because RADAR locked on the jet after the Jet passed over it, that means Houthis tracked the Jet with the FLIR turret and the RADAR Locked the Jet later that is Why the SAM intercepted from behind thus giving no time to the Jet to evade. These are not noob Air defense tactics but advance strategies to take out fighter jets.

you can buy one sir online few hundred dollars from amezon or alibaba or even dirct from FLARE SYSTEMS online sales
Yes I can buy one but with less range and capabilities. I cannot buy with this range for few hundred dollars.

.
There is already another thread to discuss the drop tank, but what about the FLIR Turret? This is USA equipment.
FLIR SYSTEMS is a worldwide company sir they also sale online . this is not some high end tech . you are taking it too deep

.
If these Turrets were so easy to get why did Pakistan was only able to Buy them from Turkey and not France for JF-17. When France rejected Pakistan's request for these turrets.

I am not taking it too deep Only Turkey sold them to us for JF-17 remember all other rejected.

.
It is not so difficult to buy FLIR products. Similarly buying a China made DJI drone does not mean China is helping. However it is not surprising that USA would be supporting both sides of equation but not in the case of Yemen.

And were there any Saudi presence in Yemen in 2009? the Flirs were sold to Yemen not to the Houthis..a big chunk of the Yemeni regular army who were loyal to Saleh joined the Houthis with all their equipments.. So where is the US in this apart from selling equipments to Yemen before the civil war..

Yes I am talking about Turkish targeting pods and was trying to tell the poster above that these pods are not so easy to buy on internet just because they have visited the FLIR website that does not mean they can buy these pods. What FLIR provides for civilian equipment is totally different thing. These pods were sold by USA because the order of Purchase is there. Now back to you So Now Houthis and Yemeni army is working together?

This only means _if true in the first place_ that the Houthis are not on their own, there might be foreign experts in air-defence manning these systems..

Anyway, the first video about this fabricated story shows a night launch of the air-defence missile and this video is made during the day..it also shows the missile head burning like a Flare.. afterwards there is absolutely no evidence of the hit, since the airplane continued it flight without even deviating the slightest.. and most important, why would the Houthis not show the explosion of the fighter when hit by the missile..which is the definite proof of downing a fighter jet..or anything flying as a matter of fact? and where are the debris if this was over Sana'a the capital controlled in most parts by the Houthis?

Parts of the ex-Yemeni army.. This shows that you are not really familiar with the Yemeni crisis..

This is the Flir Ultra 8500 they show on the video:
