US warns Bangladesh of Chinese debt trap

Dhaka at the dialogue told Washington that non-inclusion in the first Democracy Summit in December last year was "a matter of surprise" for Bangladesh.

As one of the largest democracies in the world in terms of population, Bangladesh expressed the hope that it will be invited to the next Democracy Summit to be convened by President Joe Biden.

How come Hasina Bibi claims BD as the largest democracy in the world when the last general election was held by stamping ballot papers in the midnight?

Hasina Bibi, the next election is nearing. Please let a neutral interim/ CTG govt conduct election, and if your BAL party wins in such an election, you are free to claim BD is the largest democracy.

Bangladesh should warn the US about severe income and wealth inequality among Americans which is severely hindering their ability to buy more t-shirts from BD.
Pre-pandemic, 45000 thousand Americans were dying and half a million filing for bankruptcy each year due to inability to afford healthcare.
Medicare of All would mean more money to spare for t-shirts.

Bangladesh should also formally express 'grave concerns' to the US over their over reliance on China for outsourced manufacturing in light of recent geopolitical tensions. From iphones to aircraft for Boeing, China is manufacturing everything for the US. BD should help the US secure its supply chain by manufacturing these in Bangladeshi EPZ's.

Fact or opinion? We are talking about SL here and your claim that China holds only 10% of SL's debt.
This is patently false. It is estimated that almost 40%-50% of Chinese debt to developing world is "hidden".
