This sure is a U-turn, but I wouldn't say its unexpected. They create a monster to fight one of their enemies, then they use whats left of their previous enemies to fight this new enemy.
First they fund ISIS to fight Syrian Army, now they'll support Syrian army to fight ISIS.
The western powers sure know how to keep half the world unstable.
