US to deduct Pak aid for every ISI-caused death

Why not provide Pakistan and the especially the pakistani mil, say 100 F/A 18's and say another 50 F16 blk60 for completely abandoning each and every proxy-jihadi in Afganistan, India and pakistani land. Send para mil forces and dis arm NWFP and in addition pledge another 40bn in foriegn investment for next 10 years. It will ensure ending the conventional threat from India, ties between India and pakistan will improve and so will US -pakistan relations.

Apart from the protests from India and the diplomatic fallout it will bring... the temptation of being able to wage war indirectly has not yet left the bloodstream of many in the Pakistani establishment.

"Pakistan helped to create the Taliban, and Pakistan's intelligence service hid Osama bin Laden from the U.S. for years. Today, one of the most dangerous and sophisticated groups killing American troops in Afghanistan is the Haqqani Network, which is closely operated by the Pakistani government," Rohrabacher alleged.

And CIA stood by, watched, clapped and praised...

the aid should go up by $50 mil for every Pakistani soldier killed by cross border Taliban left uncontrolled by ISAF/NATO.

Protests will always be there. Indirect war is not going bring any results, so becomes a moot point. Both countries are hostage to nukes, hence full fledged war will bring silly outcome, why not exchange all the radicals for skyscrapers, universities and strong conventional military along with present assets.

Unless there is some radical change, this situation will outlive us.

This thread is dead now. As expected, U.S.A rejected this bill, 335 voted not to ban.
Only 84 in favor of Ban.

You son't say.So tell me how will the politicians maintain their billion Dollar lifestyles once their salary is gone.I mean that is how they are paid, right?

Do we know what the Congressman was smoking before he introduced this bill? There is a possibility he could be drunk as well.

They should just keep the aid to themselves. Pakistan is no longer lobbying for this money any more because the military has already communicated they can make do without the aid.

it has pretty much done it so far and it can do so

by the way. if Americans and Afghans can get their way, they might even blame ISI when their soldiers kill civilians including children to collect body parts as trophies.

I wonder what time of the day and at what place these US law makers come up with these suggestions. they even count payment for using facilities as aid too. its like me saying that I am giving aid to my local utility company or petrol station whenever I pay my bill

:)

The title of the thread and the ensuing discussion is premature.

This is just a bill proposed; it is not law, and probably will never be in the form that has been proposed.

Exactly like I said:

The US political process shoots off stuff like this all the time. It is pointless to go into a frenzy every time that happens.

Well you would have thought by now everyone would have realised that Americans are liars

Washington: US Congressman Dana Rohrabacher has introduced a Pakistan Terrorism Accountability (PTA) bill that proposes to deduct 50 million dollars from US aid to Islamabad every time an American is killed "as a result of actions of the ISI".

For each person killed, 50 million dollars would be subtracted from the 2.2 billion dollars US foreign assistance to Pakistan, and given to the victim's family, reports The News.

"Of the amounts made available for assistance to Pakistan for fiscal year 2013 or any subsequent fiscal year, the President shall withhold $50 million for each United States citizen who is killed as a result of actions of Pakistan's ISI or support provided by the ISI to other organisations or individuals, including the Haqqani Network," the bill said.

"For too long America has funded the Pakistani government, giving it free money, while elements of the ISI and Pakistan's military operate radical Islamic groups that are actively murdering Americans. Americans will not accept this," Rohrabacher said.

"Pakistan has for decades leveraged radical terrorist groups to carry out attacks in India and Afghanistan," he added.

Former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, had said the ISI directed the Haqqani Network to plan and conduct "the assault on our embassy (in September 2011)”.

“We also have credible evidence that they were behind the June 28 attack at the Inter-Continental Hotel in Kabul," he added.

According to the legislation, the ISI maintains control and influence in Afghanistan through militant Islamic networks, such as the Haqqani Network, in order to secure its strategic position and expand its sphere of influence, not only in Afghanistan, but also in Kashmir and against India.

Asserting that ISI has strong links with the Haqqani network, the legislation says that it shall be the policy of the US to limit its foreign assistance to Pakistan if the country’s military or intelligence services continue to support or provide assistance to organisations that target US citizens.
