The United States will next year buy 30 Russian-made helicopters for the Afghan army, Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport said Friday.

The batch of Mi-17V-5 military transport helicopters will raise to 63 the quantity of that model supplied under US-Russian deals for the Afghan National Army.

The Mi-17V-5 is part of the Mi-8/17 family, members of which are used by more than 80 countries.

Great News my Afghan Friends.by the way, these Mi-V5 can also be converted to Gunships and are going to provide ANA's much needed airlift capability.hopefully, they'll use it for battlefiled casualty extraction and will save hundreds of lives.

Mi-17V-5 was chosen for it meet the tactical need of Afghan Army.

And we pay for the "yankee" stuff we get.

Also,we don't operate as much yankee stuff as Pakistan.
Pakistan also pays for the stuff....difference is all the payment is not in cash....that is the problem we admit too....

afghans are does not lucky to get all the fancy Yankees stuff like pak

Gee....I didn't know Pakistan used Blackhawks or something. Interestingly, Pakistan use quite a number of Mi-17's :D

India is getting Much MORE Famcy Yankees Stuff than Pakistan....

we are getting the best stuff because we are paying for it, we will not lend every one to get atleast minimal stuff.
