US threatens India with sanctions over Iranian Oil

when U.S puts sanctions on india ( if they can afford to) only then it will be better to discuss this issue. here in this thread we all are just assuming this will happen, that will happen.

.
i hope U.S do this. They have already bad image in india for early sanctions in 98 and most of the defence tech is available in europe or israel and we have access to it.its amazing to see that last year they were endorsing for UNSC permanent seat and now they are talking about sanctions. They dont know that india is very tough nut to crack unlike china which can compromise by threats of economy.
we should limit our relations with U.S.They need slaves not allies or partners.

I dont think India would be bent. We saw that in 1971 when US aircraft carrier entered bay of bengal. That time there was a high probability of indo US war. I think india and pakistan both have experienced how US politics works and will not be bent by them. India has a huge internal market and can be self sufficient even when sanctions are hit. SO they are immune to certain extent.

This is a fluff piece written by a Pakistani news agency. There has been no such talk reported in any other media. Not only that, but, if you bothered reading the article it contradicts itself over and over again. There was a statement put out by Hillary weeks ago that US is very happy with the progress India has made. Wish the Indians here were a bit more smarter to catch on vs. wearing their emotions on the sleeves.

The US has fired its first salvo! It's a good thing we didn't go in for any American jet fighters otherwise we would have been on the receiving end of the stick. The Yanks have this notorious habit of slapping sanctions whenever they feel that their national interests are being jeopardized.

In a war the U.S. could impose crippling sanctions rendering an American fighter fleet non operational. And that would have spelled disaster! Can we, or should we trust the Americans? Simple answer: NO! So it was a good decision not to have bought any front line fighter jets from them.

Cool off man! It's not just from a Pakistani news agency. Get a load of this....From The Telegraph, UK:

US warns India not to break Iran sanctions

These aren't the ol' days when India had to bow under US pressure every time they threatened of reducing aid or putting sanctions...
US too will suffer if it puts sanctions on India. It will lose a very big market and a very important startegic ally.

If Israel controls U.S., the bombs should have already falled on Tehran already.

Obama does not want anything major happening again before his reelection. After that, he will learn from Bush jr. to fabricate some fxxked-up excuses, e.g. wmd, to bomb or invade Iran.

Won't happen. India is israel's moost strategic ally in the region and Israel controls US.

Firstly , two separate articles. Secondly- other than the author's rabble rousing HEADER- if you bother reading the article you have added, it is pretty generic, non threating language quoted and attributed to PH Crowley. Nothing that India has not agreed to ( read last sentence too)

Again, I would expect Indians to be smarter by reading the article(s) , instead of wearing your emotions on the sleeve, every time people here poke at you guys. You are becoming far too easy to rile up by " Blaring headlines" .

There can be no sanctions nor has US specifically targeted India for it because India is adhering to the UN mandates on this.

The " sanction" threat was made up by the Pakistani news agency... and you guys fell for it for 6 pages now.

US once again proving that its not trust worthy .
Never has it been, The moment Obama talked about reducing the energy needs of developing country such as INDIA and developed country such as CHINA, we understood the imperialistic idea the US has. While the US is the largest consumer of energy per individial, these a holes want us to reduce the energy that we consume. Hypocrats.
