LAHORE – Even after the Raymond Davis episode exposed the presence of the US spy network actively operating in the terror-hit country, the United States on Tuesday categorically said they would not pull out any security contractor from Pakistan. “We have no plans to withdraw anybody. We are not withdrawing anybody,” said Courtney Beale, spokesperson at the US Embassy in Islamabad while talking to The Nation on Tuesday.
When asked whether the Pakistani government had contacted them to pull out private security contractors, she said they had not heard from the government on the issue.
To another question, she said the US Embassy officials were seriously considering defending Raymond Davis, facing multiple criminal charges, in a local court in Lahore. “Yes, we are looking into how best to represent him in the court,” Courtney added.
Sources said after losing all hopes and asserting pressure on the Pakistani political leaders for the release of Davis, the US had been left with no other option but to face the court to defend its national.
On the other hand, the federal government is preparing to push the United States to wrap up its spy network and withdraw hundreds of undercover agents, operating across the country as private security contractors to guard the US installations and interests.
The Interior and Foreign ministries are working together to find out ways to kick out the undercover agents from the country after properly scrutinising their visas and passports by defining their legal status.
The United Sates had hired hundreds of professionals like Davis from the US-based private security companies and they later were deployed in the major cities including Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
The government sources say these undercover US nationals are on visit visas in Pakistan.
According to the US media, the double murder accused Raymond Davis runs Hyperion Protective Consultants, LLC, a company that provides ‘loss and risk management professionals’.

“If you checkout their website it seem like a fly by night company that among other small bore services sells things like pepper spray. Sounds like a classic CIA ‘cut-out’” said a report.
“Employees have been hired in accordance to their fields of expertises, with the knowledge that they are the brightest stars in this market,” the company reported on its website.
Hundreds of US undercover operatives, including those from notorious Blackwater and other private security companies, are secretly working on a specific agenda in Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi and Quetta.
Well-informed police sources further revealed that the undercover US intelligence operatives started arriving in Pakistan in 2009.
About 650 US nationals, most of them linked with defence and security affairs, had been issued one-year multiple Pakistani visas by Pakistani Embassy in Washington in sheer violation of the prescribed rules. These visas were later extended from time to time.
Sources also added that the embassy issued special multiple visas in haste without fulfilling the legal and diplomatic prerequisites.
They also believe that dozens of more undercover operatives are likely to reach Pakistan during the next couple of weeks, adding that the visas were issued to US nationals after the visit of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Pakistan in 2010 as the Obama administration forced Zardari-led government to issue the visas to ‘clear ways for assistance projects’.
Police investigators say it has been established that Davis was a private security contractor working for the US government in Pakistan.
According to the sources, the undercover contractors are operating covertly in different posh areas of the city while residing in rented bungalows and villas.

It is time that we tighten the visa process for all foreigners. US and other countries are doing it to secure their borders and wee need to start finger printing and cracking down on everyone.

With the very first day, Pakistan Intelligence, Pakistani media and some well known personalities of Pakistan have been asserted that Blackwater was operating in Pakistan. But the officials of Pakistan Govt. were used to deny all these reports.

On December 14, 2009, despite repeated denials, the CIA has confirmed that US security contractor Xe Services, formerly known as Blackwater, has been operating in Pakistan and CIA spokesman George Little said that agency Director Leon Panetta has now terminated a contract with Xe services that allowed the company’s employees to load bombs on CIA drones at secret airfields in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

what worries me is that we needed a ramond to expose the network! what are we doing? sleeping or keeping our eyes closed. so many ramonds have been openly roaming, crossing lights and driving in one way in islamabad but we dare not utter a word hahaha makes me sick. By the way thanks to ramond as you cant see those big bullet proof vehicles running wildly in islamabad any more. At last someone came to our rescue and hats off to media for saying what we should have said years ago!
