we may never hear full story from paf . even if we do there are chances that they are hiding something. the greatest thing they will not admit is shooting down su 30 in bvr engagement by paf f-16 from inside pak air space. india will never speak about it out of shame but they will try to present to US and the world that paf used f-16s in aggressor role against ind so some sanctions may be forced or spares should be blocked which i dont think US can afford till the time their last man leaves afghanistan. talibans latest action will probably delay US exit from afghanistan.

When I initially observed the 'leak' of SU-30 and then immediate denial, this is what went through my mind: they are pandering to Russian sensitivities. For Russians, it would be simply obliteration if their top of the line SU-30 is defeated in ANY conflict, after a long line of Migs eaten up by various Western aircrafts. IF this is so, we should milk it by getting the Russians to sell us S-400 or later, and SU-35 or later.

On the other hand, IF an F-16 has the kill to its name, I think LM may be too much in love with us to stop spares. OK, I risk being proven completely wrong. But anyway, in that case, we should milk LM for transference of F-16 production line to Pakistan.

WASHINGTON: The downing of two Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets this week persuaded the United States to re-engage Pakistan for ending a dangerous confrontation between South Asia’s two nuclear-armed states, said a former White House official.

After the Pakistani military shot down two Indian Air Force planes and captured an Indian pilot, the United States walked back its rhetoric of self-defence,” said Shamila N. Chaudhary, who was director for Afghanistan and Pakistan at the White House National Security Council under President Barack Obama.

In a piece she wrote for a congressional newspaper, The Hill, she noted that after Pakistan brought down the IAF planes US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urged both countries “to exercise restraint, and avoid escalation at any cost”.

Connected to the US establishment and privy to security clearance at the highest levels is confirming that at least 2 Indian fighter planes have been shot down.

No mention of F16 also, backing up PAF claim.

What would the US do if Russian jets bombed Alaska or California, show restraint?
